EXPERIENCE:

 I have over three decades of experience caring for cats and I've been fortunate to have loved ten cats throughout my lifetime. For the past 18 1/2 years I have loved and cared for 2 rescue cats from New Orleans, Starla and Stanley. Sadly, I lost Starla to cancer/hyperthyroidism/CKD in Sept 2022 and Stanley to CKD in December 2023. I'm taking some time for my heart to heal before welcoming a new rescue into my life.

I have extensive experience providing care for cats of all ages, from playful kittens to senior snugglers, as well as for cats with various medical conditions such as hyperthyroidism, chronic kidney disease (CKD), diabetes, arthritis, and cancer. I am skilled at administering oral, subQ, and cream medications and am committed to providing the highest quality care and attention to your furry companion.

As a pet owner myself, I understand the importance of finding a reliable and trustworthy cat sitter who can provide compassionate care for your beloved pet, and piece-of-mind for you while you're away. You can rely on me to provide the same level of care that I would give to my own cats. I believe that establishing a relationship based on trust, respect, and open communication (including regular photo updates) is key to ensuring that both you and your cat are happy and comfortable while you are away.

LOCATION:

I have my own vehicle and am open to visits within the following neighborhood: The Beaches, Upper Beaches, Beach Triangle, and Birchcliff.

HOME VISITS: 

My home visits are for 30 min and (in addition to feeding) I'll spend most of my time engaging with your pet, whether it's socializing indoors or outdoors. I will clean litter boxes and handle pet accidents, ensure that your home is kept clean and tidy during my visits. Happy to water your plants as well :-) 

OVERNIGHT HOME STAYS:

I am open to overnight home stays however it's dependent on the days of the week. On Monday's and Tuesday's I work downtown and would be away for 8 hours during the day. From Wednesday to Friday I work remotely and would need access to reliable wifi. Weekends are flexible based on my calendar. From Wednesday to Sunday I would spend the majority of the day (and night) with your pet except when I'm running errands. I wouldn't be away from your pet for longer than 3 hours. Each overnight home visit is unique and I'd be happy to discuss how I can meet your needs prior to booking.

HOLIDAYS:

Please note that my fee will increase on holiday weekends. 

ABOUT ME:

While I work full-time in academic medicine, I have the priviledge of spending a portion of the week working remotely from my home in the Beaches neighbourhood. Yes, I say "Beaches" not the "The Beach" :-) In my spare time I enjoy the outdoors and am an avid camper, canoe camper, and traveller. I've also discovered a passion for all things wine and have studied to become a certified sommelier.
