About Tarja

Hello, dear dog lovers!

First of all, I'd like to introduce myself. My name is Tarja Liebelt, I'm 19 years old, originally from Dresden, Germany, and I'm currently in Canada on a Working Holiday Visa.

I've had dogs for over 10 years, so being thousands of kilometers away from them has been incredibly difficult. That's why I'm looking for a new way to spend time with dogs while I'm here—I simply can't imagine life without them anymore.

I have three small dogs of my own: Brownie, Rocky, and Hope. I take them everywhere I can, and we usually go for walks twice a day for at least 30 minutes, although they're often much longer. On hot days, I prefer taking them to a river or lake where they can cool off in the water. When we're not out walking, we spend lots of time playing together. Rocky loves playing fetch, while Brownie and Hope enjoy running around with me.

Besides caring for my own dogs, I spent 10 months in the USA living with three and sometimes up to six Great Pyrenees. Some of them were only 12 weeks old. My host parents were part of a foster program, so I'm also used to dogs that are shy, nervous, or need a little extra patience when meeting someone new.

Over the years, I've been around many different breeds, including Golden Retrievers, a rescued street dog, Great Pyrenees, and Bolonka Zwetnas. Every dog has a unique personality, and I genuinely enjoy getting to know each one individually. Even though I don't have professional experience, I attended dog training classes with my first dog for a year, and I still remember many of the techniques I learned.

What do my services include?

My priority is always doing what's best for both your dog and you.

I offer:

• Dog walking (30 minutes or longer)

• Drop-in visits

• Feeding and fresh water

• Playtime and companionship

• Plenty of cuddles and attention

• Bathing if needed

• House sitting, including daytime care or overnight stays

There isn't a strict maximum duration. Whether your dog just needs a short walk, company during the day, or someone to stay overnight while you're away, I'm happy to help.

I'm also an active person who loves being outdoors. Back home in Germany, I go hiking with my own dogs several times a month, often for several hours. If your dog enjoys long walks or hikes, I'd be more than happy to do that too.

What kind of pets do I care for?

I currently care for dogs only.

Breed, size, age, and personality don't matter to me, as long as your dog doesn't pose a danger to my personal safety. Unfortunately I cannot accept dogs with a history of severe aggression toward people or other animals.

Availability & Practical Information

I'm available on both weekdays and weekends. Since I also have a job, my schedule can vary, so please contact me in advance to discuss availability. I receive my work schedule at the beginning of each month.

Please let me know before booking if your dog has any medical conditions, requires medication, or has any special needs. The more I know, the better I can care for them.

Thank you so much for considering me!

I'd like to finish by sharing why I'm offering dog sitting. My two biggest motivations are simply spending time with dogs while I'm in Canada for six months and helping people who can't always be with their dogs due to work or other commitments. I'm doing this because I truly enjoy being around dogs, not because I'm trying to make a lot of money. My goal is to give your dog the same love, attention, and care that I would give my own.
