Hi! My name is Gail and I live in the South Burnaby area. I have been looking after cats in my home since 2016 and enjoy every minute. Being happily retired, I am home most of the time so your pet will have lots of company. My partner and I live in a one-story townhome, which opens to the outdoors. However, cats (even outdoor cats) are not allowed outside during their stay here. For those guests who may be escape artists, a gate is set up at the door and there are screens on all the windows. 

During my time as a cat sitter, I've learned about different cat personalities and behaviours. Some guests like to spend a bit of time hiding as soon as they arrive. They gravitate to a space under the sofa in my second bedroom, where I keep a nice soft blanket for them. Other kitties are exploring and feel right at home the minute they enter the door. We don't force ourselves on those who choose to hide, but respect their space, doing frequent check-ins while they get used to our voices and the sounds of the household. 

My home is calm, quiet, cosy and "cat safe" with no dangerous plants or chemicals. During their stay, your kitty has the run of the house and is welcome to sleep in the bed at night. Your pet is the only guest in our home (unless they have a brother or sister!) and get to participate in play time, cuddles, brushing and birdwatching during their time with us. We have a special "toy box" and a cube and tunnel which they love to run through. We also have a great cat tree for birdwatching or just morning meditations. 

I have experience with administering oral medications. 

Please note that I am only able to take a maximum of two kitties - who will be from the same home. 

I am happy to do an in person or video meet and greet and tour of my house so we can get to know each other.
