I have had over 15 years of experience in providing total care for cats, dogs and a variety of other fur and feathered pet companions. Although I specialize in cats, I have owned my own cat boarding and dog sitting businesses and have spent countless hours walking dogs and fostering cats. I even had a matchmaking business where I matched trusted pet care providers with the best care for my clients' animals and homes!As a volunteer in various shelters and humane societies, I have worked hard to care for animals around the clock. I am a Healing Touch for Animals Practitioner and Animal Communicator. I am Pet First Aid Certified and bonded with excellent references. I am well-educated in providing the best of care for your animal companions and understanding their needs. My rates vary depending on your location, special needs, time that you will be away, how many animals you have and what their demands may be. We always teased Mom that she had all the pics of our various family “furkids” in the living room; while the so-called "real" kids and grandkids photos were relegated to the bedroom. Each much loved. I can thank both my parents for modelling their love of all animals, and many of my earliest and most poignant memories are of family pets, along with the neighbour’s dogs and cats. Even the little Chihuahua that bit me in the face when I was five. My feelings were hurt for a second, but right away wanted him to know that he was still my friend. I adore them all. Gone now for several years, the love of my life was my English Bulldog Margaret. She lived until 13. Friends would say, she’s not going anywhere. Has it too good. We have experience with both youngsters and elder pets, and more than comfortable looking after medications or any other medical needs. When asked, where is your happy place? I always answer anywhere that I'm spending time with animals. (Rhona) While Travis did not have the same family experience as myself; he has a real affection for pets that has indeed grown throughout our years together. Animals naturally gravitate to his calm and kind nature. I love working with our young teens who have various special needs for the Greater Victoria School District and Travis also works with young adults for two local Community Support Organizations, Lifetime Networks and Garth Homer Society. We feel that our desire to be the best pet companions along with possessing life skills and deep common sense makes us the ideal choice for your time away from home. We love all Animals, Travel, Gardening, Culture, Cuisine, Adventure, Kayaking, Reading, Movies While we enjoy living a semi-nomadic life during the holiday months, we are both very reliable and grounded people who would care for your pet and home with the greatest attention and respect. As you can see in our profile pic, we have a beloved cat. We take her whenever we can, but she is a shy girl and our Isabella is lovingly looked after by close family if we are away for extended periods of time. Both of our jobs require full Police Checks, as we work closely with highly vulnerable people. So, if you are considering the need for a house sitter, we are very low maintenance, resourceful, open-minded people and are very happy to anticipate and fulfil the unique care needs of your pets, home, possessions and surrounding property.
