"We purchased two kittens from the SPCA in Cochrane a year ago and had never thought about who could watch them when we went away on a vacation ? When we decided to go away we asked our family members if anyone could cat sit while we were away and the ones who did have time to watch them unfortunately have allergies to cats so after looking at a couple of cat sitting options we decide to try Pawshake as the sitters and prices were within our budget. We were a little worried to leave our cats with a stranger because they had only been cared for by us and had not really been exposed to strangers. We carefully read all of the reviews and after some time we had decided to try Alexandria because she lives near by and she had many positive reviews. We called Alexandria and invited her over for a meet and greet with the kitties, they both immediately went to her and seemed to be very comfortable with her. We hired her from May 1/2025 to May 22/2025 We could not have been more pleased with her, she was very reliable with the two visits per day and with sending us daily pictures of them playing along with an update on their condition. We highly recommend using Alexandria and would not hesitate to hire her again the next time we are away.

"Dawn, without question, has become our legendary go-to superhero pet sitter.
We would recommend her, without hesitation, for any booking she agrees to handle for you.
My wife Janis and I are retirees with 2 very different cats. Luke is somewhat shy but makes friends quickly and has a reasonably easy disposition. At the opposite end of the behavioral spectrum, we have Kende, who is extremely shy and skittish, requires once daily medication, a special diet, daily monitoring of litter box activities, and takes a very, very long time to establish a trust relationship with new people. He was a rescue cat, so his hesitant behavior is not a complete surprise to us.
Our first encounter with Dawn was to enlist her pet sitting services for a quick 3-day trip out of town to attend a funeral for an aunt. The final duration of the trip was quite uncertain due to the unpredictable extreme winter weather.
We were very grateful for Dawn's quick response and enthusiasm, despite us having provided her with very short notice for our request. At our meet and greet we met with her and almost knew instantly that we were very lucky to have made such a perfect choice. (She did not get to see both cats on this introductory visit, as they had both run to hide when a new voice was heard in the house).
A day or so later, Dawn began her visits and stayed in touch with us each day with an update, videos, and a few notes. It was immediately obvious that Kende was going to be a challenge, as expected, but Dawn demonstrated she was indeed up to the task. Luke was warming up very quickly, and Dawn was still careful to give both cats appropriate attention and understanding. Feedings, administering of meds, and litter monitoring went smoothly despite Kende's brief appearances.
On the 2nd or 3rd day of the trip, we requested an extension of 3 additional days to visit family further away yet, and Dawn accommodated us without hesitation. (Notwithstanding, we were again lucky that her calendar schedule could accommodate us). Unlike many would-be pet sitters, Dawn has demonstrated to us that she is very well organized and leverages today's technologies such as cell phone messaging and videos, internet emails and Interac bank transfers, and does so in a professionally organized manner. (Without such handling skills, the tools provided by Pawshake and other similar services would be ineffective).
Our trip proceeded without further incident and the weather co-operated with our extend travel plans. Through Dawn's persistent, careful, and dedicated loving attention, Kende now has a new and trusted caregiver. Lukey Luke was also very happy with the care Dawn provided for him throughout our absence, although is now probably a bit jealous that he needs to share Dawn's visiting times with Kende too.
Such things are probably not often thought about or shared publicly, among those of us that care so deeply for our pets, but it should be recognized that we all deserve some time away from our pets for our own family priorities and peace of mind.
The only way that this can be done without unnecessary guilt or stress while away is to leave your pets in the care of someone you can deeply trust, and who shares your own values and love for animals. Dawn is that person for us. We are sure that you will find that you can trust and depend on her in the way that we do.

"Kristen is a fantastic cat sitter! I left my cat, Ella, in her care for six days, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Kristen was attentive and thoughtful, providing regular updates and photos showing how Ella was gradually warming up to her. What impressed me most was how quickly Kristen built trust with Ella, who can be shy with new people.

"Brittany was absolutely awesome!!! She was able to look after my 2 cats last minute, and met with us that same day. She genuinely does care about my cats and pointed out what could be an ailment to one of them while we were away (during our daily communication). It is obvious once you meet Brittany she is well versed in pet sitting and care, down to the very last detail. Upon return, the cat areas were very clean upon, as with the rest of the house.😊 And watered my outdoor plants too. I HIGHLY recommend Brittany. "In short: Kody saved my cat's life while I was away.
I had to stay abroad to deal with a family funeral, and Kody was the sitter during that period. My cat, who is diabetic, got sick and needed urgent care. Kody took the job extremely seriously and drove my cat to the emergency room. It was revealed later on during that week that my cat suffered from pancreatitis as well, possibly due to his diabetes. Without Kody being here and taking care of my cat, I honestly do not know what would have happened. Kody still went to visit my cat at the hospital to give him company. His help was literally invaluable."

"Irene is a wonderful cat sitter. She took care of our Leo 3 times last summer, for two visits a day each day (for 10, 14, and 3 days, respectively).
Leo is 13 years old cat, very sweet, but also timid and caution with newcomers. Irene was very PATIENT and allowed him to take his time to warm up to her, and conquered his trust. He is now so comfortable with her it looks like they've known each other for years.
Irene is DEPENDABLE, well ORGANIZED, RESPONSIVE in COMMUNICATION, CARING; she kept us informed, and sent us pictures every day. In addition to to the everyday pet sitting duties, she spent time PLAYING with our cat, and was COMFORTABLE administered him tonic and occasionally laxative, as he was coming out of a bout with gastrointestinal issues.
We were very happy to find Irene, particularly because none of the neighbour kids that usually did cat sitting for us were available, and one even had to cancel with just a few day's notice. Considering we were still under some COVID restrictions, this was a relief. We trust Irene, and will always call her back to look after Leo."

"Hello all,
Daria was an excellent pet sitter while we were away. Our Bengal cat is very fussy around who he selects as people to associate with. :) He went up to Daria immediately upon meeting her. She was very attentive while we were away in looking after the house, our 200 litre fish tank and the our Bengal including daily pictures. She was able to come by twice daily in the morning then later in the day which worked out very well. We felt safe immediately upon meeting Daria and leaving our property, contents and responsibility. We would recommend Daria and will not hesitate to engage her again in the future.
