A few years ago I started volunteering at animal shelters and found it to be the most fulfilling experience. I began as an animal caregiver (the direct feeding and cleaning responsibilities), and have since taken in additional positions in the foster department, dog behaviour, and management for the animal welfare department (my passion is dog nehaviiur!). I've always loved animals but due to allergies in my family, didn't have pets growing up. I'm making up for lost time with them now! Still working in shelters to this day, I also adopted a dog at the start of the year. Her name is Puma, she's an anxious girly with high prey drive and reactivity towards dogs. I'm fascinated by dog behaviour and extra motivated to keep learning in order to better support Puma (and any other dogs in my life).
Through my work in shelters I've also had the chance to learn about cat care, bunnies, guinea pigs, some birds and reptiles... While my experience with those species is more limited, I know the basics and I'm always eager to learn more!
For the moment I am not able to accommodate animals in my home, but can totally do drop in visits, walks, or even over nights if booked in advance.
