I’ve been caring for German Shepherds for nearly 20 years, beginning with my first rescue in 2007. She was part of our family until 2020 and lived to the wonderful age of 14. Later that year, we adopted a 10-year-old senior German Shepherd and cared for him for the next couple of years. Today, we share our home with our third rescued German Shepherd.

Those experiences have given me a real appreciation for the different personalities and needs of adult, senior, large-breed and rescue dogs. I understand that every animal has their own routines, comfort levels and quirks, and I believe good pet care starts with paying attention to those differences.

I’ve also been around cats regularly since 2008 through my wife’s family, and there is currently a cat in our household. I’m comfortable with feeding, refreshing water, litter care, play, companionship and making sure everything looks normal while you’re away.

For dog walks, I follow the routine and instructions you provide. I want your dog to get a proper walk while also staying safe and comfortable. I keep the dogs in my care under close supervision and pay attention to their energy level, behaviour, weather conditions and surroundings rather than treating every walk exactly the same.

For home visits, I can take care of feeding, fresh water, litter or basic cleanup, play and companionship, along with checking that your pet and home environment appear safe and normal. I’m also happy to send an update and photos so you know how your pet is doing.

I take reliability and safety seriously. I will follow any instructions you provide regarding your pet’s routine, behaviour, health needs and emergency contacts. If something seems wrong, I would contact you promptly, follow your emergency instructions and seek appropriate veterinary assistance if the situation required immediate care.

Most importantly, I know what it feels like to trust someone else with an animal who is part of your family. My goal is to provide calm, dependable and attentive care and to treat your pet with the same respect I would want for my own.
