Hi, My name is Tammy and I've always had a deep love for animals. My dog Dexter, a Shih Tzu-Poodle cross who recently passed away this August after 19 wonderful years together, was my constant companion, and the house is too quiet without him. I am not ready for another dog yet, and I would love the opportunity to bring that same love and attention to caring for your dog. 

I also volunteer with Soi Dog Foundation in Thailand on my yearly visits. While there, I help by spending time with the dogs, walking them and caring for them. It's given me hands-on experience with dogs of all different sizes (I'm used to small dogs), temperaments and backgrounds. 

I understand how important it is to trust someone with your pet's care and I don't take that lightly. Your dog will be treated like my own, with plenty of cuddles, walks and attention throughout our time together. I'm patient, reliable and attentive to each dog's individual personality and needs and I always make sure they feel safe, comfortable and loved while in my care. 

I also have hands-on experience caring for senior dogs, including giving oral medication, so if your dog needs a little extra care, I'm comfortable and experienced with that too. 

Dog Boarding & Doggy Day Care

Since I'm currently not working (semi-retired), your dog will get plenty of attention and a full routine while boarding with me. I offer at least three walks a day, morning, midday and evening, each around 30 minutes or longer depending on your dog's needs, with an off-leash park a block away and another park and trails just a couple of blocks further. Your dog will sleep wherever they're most comfortable, whether that's in bed with me, a dog bed or a crate, and meals and routines are built around your dog's existing schedule and preferences. Days include plenty of relax time, play and companionship between walks, and I'm usually home unless a quick errand takes me out, in which case your dog is never left alone for more than a couple of hours.

Walks & Drop-In Visits

I'm based in Richmond and happy to walk or check in on your dog, ideally within my area so I can walk over, though I'm also able to drive if needed. Walks are typically 30 minutes or longer depending on your dog's needs. My availability varies slightly through the week due to personal commitments, so please check my calendar for exact times, but I'm generally flexible and happy to work around your schedule.
