About Leah

❤️ About Me

Animals have been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was the kid who brought home injured birds, rescued snails, and tried to help any creature that needed a little extra love. That instinct never went away. Over the years I’ve lived with — and cared for — dogs, cats, horses, chinchillas, birds, and even a hedgehog. Supporting animals isn’t just something I do; it’s part of who I am.

Senior and specially‑abled pets are my passion. I believe they deserve gentleness, patience, and comfort so they can enjoy their best years with dignity. I’ve provided palliative care for a cat with mobility and sight challenges, and during COVID I partnered with a 911 operator to care for his 19‑year‑old dog who needed help with mobility and bathroom routines. We shared a 4‑on/4‑off schedule for three months, and it remains one of the most meaningful experiences of my life. I understand the unique rhythms, needs, and emotional sensitivity of older pets, and I treat them with the same tenderness I would want for my own.

🐕‍🦺 My Experience With Senior & Special‑Needs Pets

I have hands‑on experience with:

Mobility challenges (including lifting support, harnesses, and slow‑paced walks)

Bathroom assistance and in‑home cleanup

Medication routines and gentle administration

Vision or hearing loss

Anxiety, confusion, or nighttime restlessness

Palliative and end‑of‑life comfort care

I approach every pet with patience, calm energy, and respect for their pace. I never rush, and I always prioritize comfort and emotional reassurance.

🏡 My Home & Environment

My home is quiet, calm, and pet‑friendly — perfect for seniors, shy pets, or animals who need a peaceful environment. My partner and I both work from home, so your pet will have companionship and supervision throughout the day. There is always someone around to offer comfort, keep an eye on mobility, or simply sit beside your pet while they nap.

I welcome meet‑and‑greets and home introductions. I want you and your fur friend to feel completely comfortable before booking.

🐶🐱 Services I Offer

I’m available for dogs and cats, including seniors and pets with special needs.

Mid‑day pee break — $20/week

Early morning walk — $10 per walk

Daytime sitting in my home — $40/day

Overnight sitting in my home — $60/night

In‑home pet sitting — Pricing varies based on time and care needs

I tailor my care to each pet’s personality, medical needs, and comfort level. Whether your pet needs slow walks, frequent potty breaks, medication reminders, or simply a gentle presence nearby, I’m here to help.

🧡 My Care Style

I treat every pet as if they were my own. I’m attentive, gentle, and highly observant — especially with seniors who may not communicate discomfort in obvious ways. I keep routines consistent, offer plenty of reassurance, and make sure your pet feels safe and understood.

I’m also comfortable with:

Crate‑free environments

Special diets

Mobility aids

Nighttime check‑ins

Extra cleaning or bedding changes

Emotional support for anxious or confused seniors

✔️ Trust & Reliability

I am reliable, responsible, and have completed a criminal record check. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet in someone else’s care, especially if they’re older or have special needs. My goal is to give you peace of mind and your pet a loving, comfortable experience.
