About Robynn

Hi, I’m Robin! I’m an experienced pet sitter with years of caring for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and personalities. Animals have always been a huge part of my life, and I treat every pet like they’re part of my own family.

I have a strong background working with senior dogs as well as those with anxiety or reactivity, as the case with a chihuahua that belonged to a friend of mine. The chihuahua (Romo-male 8yrs old) was not friendly with children or complete strangers. I offered to help and after having him for doggy daycare everyday during the week, and barely a month in I had him better socialized to where he wouldn't be immediately aggressive when approached by strangers and he would simply walk away or ignore all children. Which is a huge improvement from him uncontrollably growling and sometimes lunging at any child he saw.

I’m comfortable administering medications, because as a teenager I had a rescue dog that I had found in the ditch of the side of the road. He could not walk and he was is rough shape and very fearful, it was obvious that he had been hit by a car. Much to my relief, he had no broken bones, just a lot of road rash and trauma. When I saw the vet, he gave me antibiotics to administer to him twice a day-which were by the way huge chalky pills and they were extremely tricky to get him to swallow. Also his wound care which required a cone and careful monitoring of the area. His physical pain paired with his fear of people, which took longer to rehabilitate, were all part of his recovery.

I am able to follow specific diets set for your pet if necessary, and I will maintain a daily routine that is calm and balanced with affection to help your pet feel safe and relaxed while you’re away.

The day always begins at 815AM. Start with a quick 5-10 minute backyard potty time, followed immediately by fresh water (coffee for myself) and then I prepare breakfast for people and pups in that order. Mornings around here are fairly quiet, after breakfast I will take some time to send the pet parent(s) updates on how the night went, sleep pattern, and any concerns I may have.

I will be sending photos of the day before and my plans for the rest of that day, so that pet parent(s) kept in the loop about the general whereabouts of their fur-babies. Another backyard potty break, and I supervise as well as try to do some light yard work before lunch, until no later than 1pm.

Depending if I have any previous engagements or not, after lunch is when I try a little bit of training where I incorporate some small treats and positive reinforcement. After lunch is walkies!!! and of course I'm mindful of each individual dogs exercise needs- distance and time spent is variable to each dog, for longer walks we can go to one of the local urban parks and trails for the majority of the day, until they're tuckered right out. Or for a micro-walkers, several short jaunts multiple times for the rest of the day with pictures taken and updates for the platform and pet parents to view and comment.

I do not ever leave your pet unsupervised, I give my full attention to your beloved fur-baby whenever I am trusted with this job. When leaving the house, I will gather all gear needed for a day of outdoor adventures, depending of course on the weather and the needs of each individual pet, it could be a few hours along the trails at one of the nearby parks, or just an up and down leisurely stroll to the next block and back. I do like to spend my daytime hours outdoors, so if your dog is the type that needs a lot of exercise I'm always happy to provide a bit of fetch or frisbee to get them moving. Or if they're senior or more of a couch potato, I'll bring them a soft bed, or some thing to snooze on nearby.

Evenings are for preparing dinner for my hubby and quietly reading or doing a little crocheting in between pets and snuggles for my furry guests. I take lots of pics and will make comments on their behaviour to keep you informed of how they are doing. You can count on me to be reliable, communicative, and attentive. I provide daily photo updates and detailed notes so for added peace of mind, I’m background-checked and have excellent references.

As a lifelong dog owner, I understand how important it is to find someone you trust. My home offers a calm, loving environment with a fully fenced yard, plenty of playtime (I love a good game of fetch!), and lots of cuddles. Whether your dog enjoys energetic outings or prefers a slower pace, I tailor every walk and stay to their unique needs.

I offer in-home boarding in the Cape Horn area, or dog walking in yours. Walks range from relaxed sniff sessions to more active park adventures, and boarding includes constant supervision, structured play, and a cozy place to relax.

I’d love to meet you and your pup and see how I can help!
