I have also provided pet sitting in my own home for many years.&nbsp;I now have a small parrot, I currently offer pet care services in clients’ homes instead. Hi! I’m Izzy, and I’ve been a big animal person for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs and a cat and spent a lot of time on a farm horseback riding and helping look after animals around the barn, so being around animals has always been a really joyful part of my life.
I’ve spent the past few years pet sitting and dog walking for friends (and friends of friends), and it’s honestly something I never get tired of. I’ve mostly worked with cats and dogs, but I’ve also cared for birds, rabbits, ferrets, and fish along the way. I offer dog walking (or other pet walking if leash trained), drop-in visits, and house sitting, and I love getting pets out for fresh air and exercise, helping them stick to their usual routines or training, and making sure they get plenty of attention while their humans are away. I’m just as happy spending time playing, hanging out, or offering lots of cuddles—whatever your pet needs. I work part time from home (aside from Thursday afternoons), which gives me a very flexible schedule. I live in Wîhkwêntôwin and love walking around the neighbourhood and into the river valley, but I’m also available to care for pets in other areas. Walks are typically 30 minutes but can be extended up to 60 minutes, and for drop-in visits I’m flexible with timing and happy to help with feeding, refilling water, bathroom breaks, basic medication, playtime, training or tricks, and other tailored tasks like checking the mail. I’m also available for 24-hour or multi-day house sitting and can work remotely from your home as long as there’s internet access.
I was lucky enough to live with roommates who had cats for several years (first a black cat named Buzz and a white and black cat named Scotty, and then a black cat named Elvis and a white and black cat named Mitski) but I currently live in a pet-free building. Pet sitting is a great way for me to still have animals in my life, stay active, and get to do something I really love. I always aim to make pets feel safe, relaxed, and cared for, even when their owners are away.

As a pet parent myself, I understand how important it is to have someone reliable and trustworthy caring for your pet when you’re not available. I know how much love and concern goes into choosing the right person, and I take that responsibility very seriously. When caring for pets, I like to keep their routine as normal as possible. I follow feeding schedules carefully, make sure they always have fresh water, and provide daily walks and playtime suited to their energy level. Some dogs love long, active walks, while others prefer calm strolls — I adjust based on their personality. I also make sure they get enough rest, comfort, and mental stimulation so they feel relaxed and secure.
I pay close attention to their behavior and body language, especially if they’re shy, senior, or adjusting to a new environment. If needed, I can administer basic oral medication and will always maintain a clean, safe space.
For everyone’s safety, I only accept vaccinated pets. I’m also happy to send regular updates and photos so you can feel reassured and connected while you’re away.

I have recently retired from being a professional athlete training for the Olympic games.  I am a winter athlete so I love being outside and the cold doesn't bother me at all.&nbsp;&nbsp;
I have been a professional athlete for 10 years since graduating from the University of Alberta and am looking to fill my time with more outside adventures and what better way than with doggies.

My parents have had 2-3 dogs at a time my whole life so I am very much a dog lover, I also love cats and am happy to vist and play with them as well.  With travelling all winter and training all summer I have not had the opportunity to have a pet of my own, but I am hoping to add one soon!

I also run a small, handmade, online based business for income so my schedule is very flexible and I am happy to visit your pets on holidays or any peak times you may be out for long periods and worrying about them at home!
