Hi my name is Danica. I offer overnight pet and house sitting services.&nbsp;
I have 10 years cleaning and house sitting experience and a particular eye for detail. I have always had pets my entire life including 2 cats that recently passed and I also had 2 dogs when I was growing up.&nbsp;
I regularly house sit for my mother and step dad when they travel each summer and recently cared for my boyfriend's buddy's dog and home for 2 weeks while he was away.
I will also mention that I'm definitely more of a cat person but I have no issues caring for dogs as well.
I have my own vehicle and can provide a criminal record check upon request.

Pet and house sitting details:

I will stay with your pet(s) in your home while you are away&nbsp;
Pets are fed according to owners directions
I also offer house cleaning with this service as I'm also a professional house cleaner.
For cats, litter is changed as needed or as directed&nbsp;

Please note that I do work during the day usually a few days a week(the days vary depending on the clients I have scheduked on any given day) for up to 6 hours between the hours of 9am-5pm and also Wednesday and Sunday evenings for 2 hours sometime after 8pm, but I am always able to let dogs out before I leave for work and ensure that I have time to come back after work before I go anywhere else to let them out if it is one of the evenings I work or have dance.

Mondays and Tuesdays I dance from 6:30-8pm and Wednesdays from 7:30-9pm.

Snow clearing is included as needed during winter months.

Lawn mowing is only included for stays of 1 week or more.

Dogs are walked on a daily basis if the weather permits, or as often as the owner has requested.

I'm available for overnight pet and house sits any day of the year (including over Christmas) as long as I don't already have another overnight client scheduled for that day/night.

Hello there!
I'm Niru, and I'm a graduate student at the University of Alberta.
Obviously, I enjoy spending time with animals! Growing up, I mostly had cats around because my mother adores them, but I've never missed out on an opportunity to play with or take care of my friends' dogs. Whenever I spend some time with them, I always come out feeling a little happier, and that's the main reason I'm here.
I have classes for a few hours on a few days of the week, but whenever I'm available, I would love to offer your pets my company and care. If they like to play, I can play, or if they like to be left alone, I can just keep an eye on them and let them do their thing. I live literally next to Mill Creek, so there's plenty of space for walks around here (although if your pet has a preferred route, that's fine too), and I'm also happy to do drop-ins if that's all you need. The duration of the walks can be tailored according to your needs, but in general, I'd prefer 30 minute walks. Drop-ins would also be about 30 to 60 minutes each, unless you have different requirements. During drop-ins, I will feed your pet, clean up after them, take them out if needed and give them lots of pets and cuddles. I'm happy to do 24 hour house-sits as well, but if the arrangement is going to be for several days, I would obviously have to leave the house every now and then to attend classes, get groceries and so on. At the end of the day, I want to be sure that I'm doing right by you and your pets, so I'm happy to tailor my services to your needs. I grew up with both cats and dogs and was actively involved in their daily care and training. I have also provided pet sitting in my own home for many years.&nbsp;I now have a small parrot, I currently offer pet care services in clients’ homes instead. I’m very comfortable around animals and have always had a natural ability to connect with them, including pets that are shy or nervous around new people. I’m confident handling and walking dogs of all sizes and temperaments.I work from home and do not have a strict full-time schedule, which allows me plenty of flexibility and time to provide attentive care. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away.I offer drop-in visits and walks where pets will be fed, given fresh water, and socialized with. I’m also happy to care for additional pets in the home, including many exotic animals.

My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from a very personal place. I truly miss my dogs back home, I have six dogs, and being away from them while studying has been one of the hardest adjustments for me. Caring for animals has always been a meaningful part of my daily life, and pet sitting allows me to fill that space while doing something joyful, comforting, and purposeful in my spare time.
I want to help pet parents feel at ease knowing their pets are safe, loved, and well cared for while they are away. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and my goal is to be a reliable and attentive sitter so owners don’t have to worry about their “babies” at home.
While I may not have formal experience as a professional pet sitter, I have extensive hands-on experience from caring for my own six dogs. I have always been responsible for preparing their food, giving medication when needed, brushing their fur, and making sure they are comfortable and happy. Weirdly enough, I even found joy in laying on the floor with them—something my dogs loved and something that reminded me how meaningful simple companionship can be.


I have recently retired from being a professional athlete training for the Olympic games.  I am a winter athlete so I love being outside and the cold doesn't bother me at all.&nbsp;&nbsp;
I have been a professional athlete for 10 years since graduating from the University of Alberta and am looking to fill my time with more outside adventures and what better way than with doggies.

My parents have had 2-3 dogs at a time my whole life so I am very much a dog lover, I also love cats and am happy to vist and play with them as well.  With travelling all winter and training all summer I have not had the opportunity to have a pet of my own, but I am hoping to add one soon!

I also run a small, handmade, online based business for income so my schedule is very flexible and I am happy to visit your pets on holidays or any peak times you may be out for long periods and worrying about them at home!
