As a dog trainer, I'm passionate about bringing owners closer to their puppies and dogs, and helping them fulfill their pets' physical and psychological needs. Dogs need mental stimulation, like activity and patience training/performance, as much as they need physical exercise. I believe the expression "A tired dog is a good/happy dog," but I believe it requires both physical and mental "tiredness".&nbsp;Dog walks with me are more like adventures. They will always get structured on-leash walking time. However, once I have established a relationship with your dog, they will also get safe, supervised, off-leash sniff-aris!&nbsp; A walk with me is always at least an hour, preferably with some off-leash (fenced and/or closely monitored) socializing/play time somewhere in the middle. Recall training is the first thing I establish with all dogs in my care.&nbsp;
I've helped families raise their beloved dogs right from puppyhood, as well as helping owners renew their relationship with their older dogs. All ages of dogs benefit from having their humans communicate more clearly and provide more stimulation. I've helped reactive dogs and poorly socialized rescues, and am comfortable around all dogs.&nbsp;For reactive dogs, if they can't do socializing yet, then all walks will spend some time focusing on reducing their reactivity.&nbsp;
My schedule in September is pretty messy, but as of October 2023, I will be available full time for dog walking and dog sitting in Ottawa. I have in-home pet sitting experience. I cannot bring your beloved dog into my home yet, unfortunately, as I currently share my space. When I'm dog sitting your lovely doggos, I will provide more than affection and supervision; they will feel fulfilled, as much as they can while absent from their family.I have lots of experience cat-sitting and chicken-sitting as well. All pets are welcome. I've been dog-sitting and walking since I was a teenager (prior to 2000), and have been cat- and chicken-sitting for about five years. Officially, I started as a dog trainer a couple years ago.Please note that $20 per month of any earnings made here will support the Breakfast Club of Canada (or 10% of all earnings if my earnings are above $200).

We also frequently take pets out on small hikes to explore the nearby parks if their parents are up for it and want their pets to have a vacation as well

Your pet stays in a home, free to roam and explore, rather than in the confines of a 3-foot cage typical in kennels or pet hotels. 

Grooming, Feeding, Cooking, Walking, Basic Training, Playing and administering basic medication - these are things I pride myself on being good with our four-legged friends. My experience stems from raising 15 dogs myself back in my home country, which includes 8 German Shepherds and 2 Pomeranians apart from the others. I have also adopted 5 other dogs who I have cared for since they were puppies as well. I'd like to say, I know the habits of quite a varied range of breeds.

My partner and I have flexible work-from-home jobs, so depending on if we have rover pets over we work from home or head to the office. We prefer to be home and not leave your pets at home alone in a new environment even if it is just for a bit, as we know how stressful it can be. We’d only accept a booking if we can be present throughout their stay 
Although have not professionally before - I am looking to pursue professional experience in dog training, grooming and care as a new career choice and this would be a stepping stone into it.&nbsp;

We live in Rockliffe - the most dog-friendly neighbourhood in Ottawa! With many parks and two off-leash fenced parks as well in the area, there is no shortage of fun walks or socializing opportunities for your pet depending on their personality! We live in an apartment but have built the space in our home to keep it open concept and have a nice big ( safely fenced ) balcony as well, where a lot of our pet guests loved lazing in amongst our many many pet-safe plants 

Our apartment has easily and comfortably accommodated 2 dogs, and we would not board more than 2 at a time for their comfort. Giving your pet much-deserved attention while you are away is our priority.

We are very active folks so your pets are guaranteed walks/visits to parks depending on their energy levels and social skills.

What information is important to know about your pet ahead of time?

1) How social is your dog? Do they get along with other dogs and cats?
2) Any specific feeding instructions?
3) Is your pet comfortable at home alone for small stretches of time? If so, for how long?
4) What is your dog's idea of good fun - out in the park, playing fetch, or any specific trick/game?
5) Any barking, Chewing habits or resource guarding?
6) Any reactiveness or aggressiveness towards other dogs?
7) Is your pet fully vaccinated?
8) Free from diseases ( Kennel cough, Fleas, Parasites, etc)
9) Is your pet Spayed/neutered? 




Hi! I'm Rayana, I grew up on a farm in a small city in Brazil, and I´ve always had contact with animals. I´m vegetarian for 10 years and rescued animals from street to care with a lot of love, respect and affection. 
I know the importance of walking, cleaning and feeding them in a correct and healthy way. The dogs are great companions and deserve our love and dedication. I also have a huge passion for cats, and at the moment I have a kitten who wakes me up every day at 4 am to say that he loves me and is hungry.

There is a beautiful McDonald Gardens park just a minute walking distance from here. We have close access to river pathways as well. I owned a cat for 10 years, but after moving to Ottawa she stayed with my ex. I have experience with small dogs and cats sitting for my friends. I offer dog walking, dog sitting and cats care. Hello pet-owners! We are a young couple who loves dogs and have a lot of experience taking care of them. We also have taken care of cats, both in their own homes and our home.The reason we would like to do more dogsitting is because it turns out to go extremely well together with our dog. Even the more shy or dominant ones tend to lift up when being around her. She never causes any problems with other animals since she is small and rather submissive. Therefore we even see it as an advantage to take care of dogs together with our own one. Of course, in some cases this turns out to be impossible, in that case it is also possible to take care of your dog seperately (we're with two). Enough about our dog, let's say something about ourselves.Currently we work mostly from home and we expect that to stay like that the coming future. We have sufficient free time and therefore like to spend as much as possible time outside and go for walks.When inside, we enjoy the company of the animals and they can be guaranteed of fulltime attention during the whole day. We both grew up taking care of animals like cats, rabbits and mainly dogs. Especially dogs always know how to steal our hearts so dogsitting always stayed part of our lives. I had pets my whole life, from cats and dogs to mice and fish. When I was older I didn’t have my own dog but I have a big family that always relied on me doggy sitting their dogs which helped me gain experience with different dogs. Last year I finished studying canine behaviour and I’m working on becoming a dog trainer. I’m happy to try answer any questions on training and behaviour if you have any.
