Hi ! My name is Amanda, a trustworthy, energetic and committed 34 year old woman who would love to take care of your furry loved ones :) Me and my husband Zakary work together to provide VIP care for your pet! Between myself and Zak your pet is never left unattended.

We are lovers of both cats and dogs (+ all furry friends for that matter!). Amanda grew up with dogs from a very young age have had 10 cats in her lifetime! In fact, she was born into a house with 5 cats, and her first word was ... you guessed it - “CAT"! Zak has owned (and rescued!) Wheaton Terriers, Schnoodles and Shih Tzu’s. He is great with training dogs and a pro at getting nervous dogs comfortable with him. 

We understand that all pets have very different personalities and needs. Therefore we never apply a one size fits all approach to caring for your pet. Whether it means slowly allowing your cat to feel comfortable over time by offering a peice of our clothing to sniff from a distance or immediately becoming best friends with your high energy dog, we have lots of experience reading your pets needs/wants and adjusting to them.

We have recently moved into a 3 level townhome near Kipling & Bloor (we don’t have any children). We have a small fenced in backyard with a high fence , perfect for letting dogs out for potty breaks. We do have one cat, who will stay up on the second and third level of the townhouse when we have dogs staying with us. Therefore the dog is typically on the main floor of the house hanging out with myself and my husband Zak.

Regardless of the service we offer, a core strength of ours is providing detailed pictures, videos and text updates of your fur baby. Amanda is a bit of a photo enthusiast so expect at least 5-7 pictures during each visit. Of course, if you want pictures of videos of something specific that can always be accommodated!

Covid Safety:

- Both Amanda and Zakary have been triple vaccinated with Pfizer as of Dec 2021

Holiday Rates:

Holiday rates are in effect for dog boarding and dog daycare during the following time periods: All long weekends for the Sat/Sun/Mon, Winter holidays running Dec 20th-Jan 2nd, the February family day week running Feb 18th-Feb 26th, and March break running Mar 10th-Mar 26th. The reason for the holiday rate is we are in very high demand for these dates! Home visits are still at their regular rate during holidays.

Dog Boarding 24 hour stay = $85

Doggy Daycare, 9 hours = $50

Meet & Greets:

We know from experience that you consider your pet as family so we assure you they will be in the very best of care! In order to ensure everyone feels happy and comfortable we typically like to schedule meet and greets to discuss how we can meet all of you and your pet’s needs.

Service Area:

We typically service the East Etobicoke (as far south as the Queensway and as far north a Rathburn), Six Points, Islington Village, Royal York, and Bloor & Old Mill areas of the west end. If you are outside of our typical service area we might be able to accommodate you but there will be an extra fee for transportation time and expenses. 

Scheduling:

Providing pet care is Amanda’s main focus so she has tons of flexibility for dog walks, visiting/feeding cats or dogs at your home, or boarding dogs in our home. Amanda is generally in change of home visits. We work together for dog boarding and doggy day care as Zak works remotely and is home 24/7. 

Monday-Friday Amanda is available for home visits in the early mornings (7am-8:30am), sometimes mid day and also evenings after 4:30pm. For weekends we can accommodate pretty much anytime you would like (including Friday and Saturday nights).

Availability: 

Amanda is available for dog walks and home visits in the morning (7am-9am), mid day Wed-Sun, and into the evening after 4:30pm. For dog boarding and doggy daycare, between my husband Zakary and I, your dog has 24 hour care and won’t be left alone unless we discuss that in advance. Zakary works full time remotely from home with an extremely flexible work schedule. Amanda works 15 hours a week (mostly Mondays and Tuesdays) at an office about 15 minutes from our home as an inventory planner.

Home visits:

Visits to your home are guaranteed to be at least a 30 minutes in length and I am flexible to stay longer for an additional fee if required. All visits include litter box cleaning, food/water, oral medications, and tons of playtime/snuggles/quiet companionship depending on your cat or dogs temperament. I am very comfortable doing brushing for cats or dogs as needed.

The only medication I am not comfortable administering is anything requiring a needle. If your cat or dog requires insulin via needle, I won’t be a great fit for your pet. So sorry about that!

Dog walks:

The rate quoted on Pawshake is for a 30 minute walk. In terms of walks, we can discuss what is best for your pets needs based on their age/health/size. If you are looking for a walk that is longer than 30 minutes I can accommodate you for an extra charge. One service we do not offer is taking your dog to an off-leash park. Safety is our top priority and we would never want your dog harmed by another dog while in our care. Thank you for your understanding!

Dog Boarding:

The dog boarding fee that you see on Pawshake covers your dogs stay for a 24 hour period. If you need to extend the hours or slightly reduce the hours we are generally pretty flexible. We board a maximum of 3 dogs at a time, but often our clients prefer their dog stay on their own to get 100% of our attention. There is an extra fee of $20/24 hours for solo boarding stays. 

During dog boarding stays your dog is free to go out in the fenced in backyard at anytime before 10pm and will always be let out or taken for a walk for a potty break before we go to sleep. If your dog requires frequent potty breaks through the overnight hours we are able to accommodate for an extra charge. A long walk will be provided each morning and each evening and a shorter walk will be provided mid-day.

Dogs are allowed on our furniture as they are family! The only place your dog won’t be allowed is in our bedroom at night as that is where our very shy cat Cleo sleeps. This means your dog must be comfortable sleeping alone outside the bedroom unless they are crated. If your dog is not comfortable sleeping alone we may consider sleeping on the couch on the main floor of the house with your dog for an extra fee. We typically do not board for longer than 10 consecutive nights. If you are looking for an extended stay beyond 10 nights the rate will be higher and discussed prior to booking. 

*Puppies under the age of 12 months and any dogs who require several overnight bathroom breaks/have potty training issues may incur extra charges as we will discuss when booking.

All fees and expectations will be outlined clearly before booking requests are made/accepted.

I will always provide text message and photo updates when completing visits/stays so you can feel completely at ease with your loved one being in my care.

Transportation:

We have a car and also live right near Islington subway station so transportation to meet you and your pet is not an issue. On evenings/weekends I will typically service a wider radius of clients so feel free to reach out even if you are a bit far away. We offer pick up and drop off service for a small fee if you are booking doggy day care or dog boarding services.
