About Catalina
Dogs have been my greatest teachers.
Growing up, I subscribed to every dog-related magazine, I watched -potentially- all dog documentaries on Animal Planet and Nat Geo, I learned about the most popular dog breeds at the time, I dreamed of having a dog shelter and rescue all the street dogs in my city.
While studying for my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in neuropsychology, my most curious and odd academic interest was canine cognition, to the point that I’ve read books about their evolution, cognition and genetics.
Growing up, I was always surrounded by dogs, and from an early age I learned to love them and respect them as part of the family without leaving aside their nature. I love them for their animal nature, but I understand and appreciate the huge impact of our human nurture on them.
Nowadays, a simple gaze from them can make me fall in love instantly, and I treat each and every dog I meet the same way I treat my dogs back home whenever I have the fortune to go to Colombia to spend time with them.
