About Pamela
Welcome to The Meowington Home: Your Feline's Dream Getaway!
Hello there! We're Pamela and Holly, a mother-daughter duo who proudly manage The Meowington Home, a cozy haven for vacationing cats and small animals. With a shared passion for all things feline, we've been devotedly tending to our whiskered guests since January 1, 2022.
Our journey began as a way to honour the memory of Sir Ralph Meowington (the ginger polydactyl in our photos), Holly’s cherished companion who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in December 2021. Through The Meowington Home we've created a loving space for cats and small animals, just as we did for Ralph, which gave birth to The Meowington Home.
To tell you more about us, we are both writers and artists who work from home and live a quiet, introverted lifestyle with very minimal social activity. We spend most of our time at home, always ready to offer cuddles and playtime to visiting cats. As of August 23 2025, our friend Jamie moved in to the Meowington Home with her lovely friendly boys Billy and Toni. While not involved in the business, Jamie’s life revolves around cats and she will be on hand for bonus cuddles.

THE MEOWINGTON HOME
Located in a quiet pocket of Hochelaga, just a short walk from Viau metro, The Meowington Home is a bright and spacious main-floor 7 ½ apartment filled with natural light. Since moving here from NDG in the fall, we’ve completely fallen in love with the neighbourhood’s calm, tucked-away feel while still being close to everything.
Cats stay in a large double room that serves as both our studio and living space, making it the heart of the home. It’s the coziest spot in the house, with a cat tree, couch, two comfortable chairs, and a window hammock perfectly positioned for bird-watching and long afternoon naps. With so many large windows, the room is always sun-filled, giving curious kitties plenty to observe throughout the day.
Because this is also where we work during the day and relax in the evenings, your cat will enjoy consistent company, gentle activity, and a lived-in environment that feels calm, safe, and engaging. Whether they prefer to play, perch, or curl up nearby, there’s always a comfortable place for them here.

OUR EXPERIENCE
Pamela has had pets in her home her entire life, and passed this on to Holly. Neither of us have been without one or more cats (aside from since we started our Meowington venture. We have given up pet ownership in favour of creating this vacation home) - and, added to that, have had budgies, rats, hamsters, gerbils, a small dog, and one fabulous hedgehog.
We have both had cats with kidney disease, and are well-versed in giving oral medication as well as subcutaneous fluids.
We are also both cat whisperers when it comes to claw clipping! If your cat is not a fan and they need their claws clipped, just let us know and we will get it done with minimal complaint. :)

WHAT WE PROVIDE (Boarding)
The Meowington Home provides attentive, 24/7 care. One of us is almost always home, aside from occasional errands or getting some fresh air.
We now share our home with two resident cats who live in the main part of the apartment, separate from the boarding space. They are calm, easygoing, and not territorial. We were genuinely surprised at how quickly they adapted to the boundaries of the home, and these days they rarely even approach the door to the guest space beyond the occasional curious sniff.
We prioritize a low-stress, single-household environment. As a rule, we do not board cats from multiple households at the same time.
In the rare case of an absolute emergency, we may accommodate a very short overlap of up to two nights maximum. This is never arranged without full transparency and consent. All parties are contacted in advance and must be completely comfortable before anything is confirmed. In these situations, one household will stay in a separate bedroom. These rooms are comfortable, well-sized, and have large windows, but they are not intended for longer-term stays.
We no longer board caged pets at the same time as cats, as there is no longer a fully closed room available for them to stay comfortably. If you are looking to book for a caged pet, we recommend reaching out early to reserve the double room during a period when no cats are scheduled.
The space itself offers plenty of cozy sleeping options, including a cat tree, couch, soft chairs, a window hammock, and quiet corners for hiding or stretching out. Some cats even choose to curl up close by while we work or relax in the evenings.
We provide litter boxes and food dishes; you just need to bring your cat’s litter and food. Feeding instructions can be shared via Pawshake so we can keep everything consistent with your routine.
And finally, we send at least one photo update per day. If you’d like more frequent updates, just let us know. We cannot provide videos, so if you would like any, we will need to add you on WhatsApp. It's not a problem. :) We know how important that peace of mind is, and we’re always happy to share more of your cat’s stay.

HOME VISITS
On a limited basis, we offer home visits within a catchment area of approximately a 30-minute walk from The Meowington Home. As we do not have a vehicle, availability for this service can vary depending on distance and season.
Each visit is 30 minutes and includes feeding, litter box cleaning, and dedicated playtime or companionship for your cat. You’ll also receive a daily report card through Pawshake with updates and photos.
For locations beyond our walking range, we may still be able to accommodate on a case-by-case basis. In these instances, visits are limited to one per day, and the cost of transit must be covered in addition to the visit fee.

HOUSE SITTING
If you are looking for someone to stay at your home with your animal(s) and perhaps some house plants, Holly is open to taking on house-sitting bookings. As there is additional work and planning involved in this type of booking, the fee is higher than boarding at Meowingtons.

Love, dedication, and flexibility are three things we see as key to animal care, and we know how to follow through on each one. Having provided care for three kidney cats as well as other cats with behavioural issues (anger in one, extreme shyness in the other), we are very good at adapting to exactly what your pet requires when it comes to care.
We can't wait to meet your amazing companion animal(s) !
