Hi I'm Louise and since moving to Alberta in June 2021 I was lucky enough to get a job at the Calgary Humane Society as an Adoption Councillor. It was extremely rewarding finding dogs, cats, rabbits and all other kinds of other animals their forever homes! Before this I was again very fortunate as I arrived from the UK to Winnipeg and instantly got a job as an Intake Supervisor (then Adoptions Councillor) at the Winnipeg Humane Society where I worked for 18 months before moving to Alberta. When I lived in London I volunteered at the renowned Battersea Cats & Dogs Home primarily as a dog walker/dog socializer.

During the adoption process I talked to potential adopters about their training philosophies and firmly believe in positive reinforcement training. Training should always be reward based for the animal, for example using treats, praise and toys and never aversive. I walked into any dogs using loose leash walking with the dogs in harnesses.

I have completed several courses and seminars whilst working at the humane societies including a cat enrichment seminar and a defensive dog handling course.

From November 2022 - May 2023 I worked as a vet receptionist at Riverwood Veterinary Clinic.

I am trustworthy and reliable and am available anytime to do home visits or dog walking. During a home visit I will stay for at least 45 minutes and upon request I can bring in your mail, turn on/off your lights etc to make your home look occupied.

I live in High River but can also travel to nearby areas if required.
