I have always loved every type of animal. I have a MSc in Zoology to prove it! Additionally, in the past, I have worked as animal caretakers in scientific, zoological, and simply personal capacities. I have personally owned dogs, cats, snakes, turtles, lizards, fish, frogs, and salamanders, and have petsit all of those plus even more reptiles.
I'd have to say my greatest achievement to date was my cat. We adopted him without knowing that he was hit by a car sometime in his past. He had a broken diaphragm and was just a mess internally because of it. But, with lots of surgeries, road trips, medicines, bandages, snuggles, all the love in the world, and his fierce fighter spirit, we got him through all of it, complete diaphragm and all. He even made the Huffington Post! Sadly, complications from that crash got the better of him years and lives later, but through all of that, I learned lots of simple veterinary procedures, so I can help with your own high maintenance furry bundle.
I love dogs and would love to take them for a run to tire them out while you're stuck away. I'm also pretty skilled in cat care and snuggling. I can care for any pet if you are gone for longer than a few hours and they need a friend in your absence. I can offer dog sitting, cat sitting, dog and cat care, aquarium maintenance, bird care, any type of animal care, really. Any animal size or age is fine. I cannot offer boarding however, because I live in a shared house.
*I do work a 5 days on/5 days off schedule where my 5 days on are 10 hour days. But from late November to early March, there can be full-time care in your home for your pet. See below.
Otherwise just drop me a line and we'll try to set things up! Can't wait to meet you and your loved one(s)!
I have experience with rescues (wildlife and domestic), anxiety, puppies/kittens, older animals, and more.
I can offer visits, walks, and house sitting. For house sitting, on my days off, I can be with your pet for most of the day, save for any errands I need to run. On my days on, I will be gone for about 10 hours from 2:30pm to 12:30am.
Walks and visits start at 30 minutes. Availability is variable depending on work schedule. But generally late mornings/early afternoons are best for me.
******from late November until early March, my partner, Simon, will be in town with me. He usually lives in Australia, but now that their borders are loosening, he’s coming to see me for the first time in two years. At home, he has a Bull Arab and two domestic cats which he will be missing unbearably and will be in need of some surrogate cuddles. He loves animals almost more than I do, and he’s fantastic at caring and playing. So, we’d love to pet-sit together. This means you get two carers for the price of one. This also means that anytime I am at work, he can devote full-time care to your loved one(s) and provide as frequent a potty break, meal, play time, cuddle, etc your pet needs.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. 7 days before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
Note: All times are based on the sitter’s time zone
Doggy day care and Dog walks always have a flexible cancellation policy:
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. one day before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.
We have had Roya take care of our cats a few times. Her communication ahead of time is excellent. While we are away we get an update every day usually accompanied with pictures. We will continue to have Roya cat sit for us in the future and would recommend her to anyone.
Roya has taken care of my two cats a few times now by house sitting and always does a great job. She communicates all throughout the day, I get regular photo updates of my fur babies, and she always leaves the place very clean. I recommend Roya to anyone looking for pet care.
I have a bachelors and a masters in Zoology. I've cared for animals of every kind in a professional setting, working in animal hunsbandry and rehabilitation, though I would no longer consider myself a professional at this time. I have owned, trained and/or cared for dogs, cats, birds, turtles, fish, marine invertebrates, lemurs, red pandas, geckos, lizards, snakes, sea otters, porpoises, seals, wombats, and wallabies.
