Are you looking for a calm, loving cat sitter you can rely on in your neighborhood? Hi, I'm Heather, and you can count on me. Since moving from a rural home to an urban one, I am looking to put my affection and care for cats at your service. I'm sadly catless in this chapter, and so am looking for new feline friends to care for.

Background:

I grew up with many beloved animals on our family farm. As a result, I have 50+ years of experience in animal husbandry, in all aspects, including nutrition, administering medication by mouth and intramuscularly, trimming nails and grooming, deworming, first aid, diagnostics, and vet visits.

Husbandry:

My cats would say about me: "She always keeps our food and water clean and fresh. She gives treats fairly. We like that she cleans our kitty litter twice a day. Almost every picture we have with her is lying on her excellent fleece sweaters and comfy lap. She gives good cuddles, and lets us supervise closely when she's doing something interesting. We really like Halloween, when she wears a wig. She takes gentle care of us when we're sick, and even though we hate the vet, we always feel better after the medicine she gives us. Most of all, we can see she genuinely pays attention to our preferences, and loves us."

Drop-in Visits

We can decide if you want me to visit once or 2x a day. Each visit in your home would be a minimum of 30 minutes, but closer to an hour, to ensure there's time for play and interaction after feeding, watering, litter cleaning.

 House-sit

I can also house sit in your home, in which case I'd stay with your pets overnight, and be away from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at work.

I have years of experience house and garden sitting, and can bring in the mail, put out the garbage, green bin, and recycling, can arm and disarm security alarms with your instructions, set light timers as you wish. I'm an expert houseplant carer, with years of repotting and bug control projects under my belt!

I am discreet, and respectful of your privacy. I'm vaccinated, a non-smoker and non-drinker. I do not have friends visit a client's home or pets, ever. I have current Criminal record checks and vulnerable sector checks from my work as a teacher, plus references you can check, so you can feel assured I'm safe and security conscious. I'm familiar with household systems, plumbing, electrical, etc, and can troubleshoot effectively as needs arise.

My Place:

I'm able to care for your cats, but not dogs in my apartment, if you prefer. I have no effective outdoor space- we'd have to go to a park on-leash. I trained my cats to leash, and am comfortable training or walking yours, walking your canine companion, or sharing cuddles and play. I'm not a dog specialist, but if you had a dog alongside your cat(s), I can provide walks, affection and games for all!
