Hi there!

My name is Tamara (Tum-Air-uh). I grew up on a farm and I love animals of all sorts. Growing up, the barn houses donkeys, goats, chickens, horses, and Lots of Cats! I always grew up with at least one dog in the house, usually a labrador but we also have had a German Shepherd, and currently a lab-dane-bulldog mix!

Last year I finally got my own cat, who I take to University with me. I'm a student at the University of Waterloo, majoring in History and Psychology. I'm hoping to pursue a career in education because I love working with children. 

Growing up on a farm means I'm very comfortable with a wide variety of situations that can occur. I've dealt with everything from broken bones and porcupine attacks, to diabetes and arthritis. 

I love working with animals, and Im used to taking in rescues of all sizes. Just a couple years ago, my family took in a 2 year old Labrador who had been abused. She was very timid, jumpy, and pregnant. Although she was not a good fit for our home, as she was an escape-artist who had to be closely watched at all times, we helped her whelp her pups and grow more confident, before re-homing her to a lovely family who still have her today. We also kept one of her pups, a Lab-Dane-Bulldog mix who I named Hatchet.

I've dog sat for a number of my family members and friends. I also worked as a farm hand in several different locations. One farm I worked at was actually a tourist destination, and had a whole variety of animals such as bunnies, sheep, guinea pigs, and snakes!

Although I can't take animals home to pet sit, I'm more than happy to do check-ins, walks, cage cleanings, and overnight visits.
