For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Sunset for a doggy day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Sunset Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer doggy day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Sunset sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

Hi there! I am an Irish girl living in Vancouver and seriously missing my dogs and cats back home. I’ve grown up in a house full of furry chaos, with cats curled up on the couch and dogs always ready for a walk. Now that I’m far from home, I’m hoping to share that love with your pet! Whether you’re heading away for the weekend or just need a helping hand, I’m available to pet sit in your home and take your fur baby out for fun walks and playtime. I absolutely love all breeds and sizes, from tiny lap dogs to big gentle giants, and from chill cats to sassy kittens. Your pet will get all the cuddles, attention, treats and care they deserve—just like I’d give my own. I would be honoured to fill that pet-shaped void by caring for yours!
I have experience with petsitting in Ireland and Vancouver but unfortunately cannot petsit in my current house.
If this arrangement suits you, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Thank you!️

Hi! Thanks so much for considering me to take care of your furry family member(s)! Below, you will find more details on me and my experience as well as information on my rates. If you have any questions, please feel free to fire a message my way.I have over 30 years of experience with dogs and have owned dogs for most of my life; I have experienced everything from puppyhood to senior dog care. I have experience with dogs that have required and/or had wheelchairs, diapers, oral medications, eye and ear medications, post-surgery care, paralysis, deafness, blindness, seizures, cancer, skin conditions, special diets, allergic reactions, fear, reactivity, heart conditions, lacerations and broken nails, rescues, escape artists, dogs that try to eat everything, high and low energy dogs, sensitive dogs, ill and well mannered dogs, small to giant dogs, multi-dog families, unsocialized and socialized dogs, and many more.I follow positive reinforcement methodologies and pride myself in being incredibly patient. I will never force a dog in my care to experience anything that could be harmful to them in any way, including psychologically. Having owned dogs with fears and anxieties, I know that helping them through those emotions using positive reinforcement and teaching conditioned emotional responses is the most effective way to help improve their experiences and quality of life. I have had a golden retriever, a beagle, and now an Australian Shepherd, all of whom were/are my best friends.I love dogs and they love me! From teaching dogs new tricks to going on adventures together outside or just chilling at home, I'm up for every experience with your fur baby! I workout every day outside and would love some furry, four legged, company, so you can rest assured your dog will get the exercise it needs when staying with me.My partner and I are home full time, so we have the flexibility to accommodate your pup's needs. My mother-in-law also lives with us and loves to give the dogs all the love and attention that they need and more! We affectionately call all dogs that stay with us our "niños" (kids in Spanish - we're a bilingual household ) and we treat them all like family.I can't wait to meet your best friend and give him or her utmost love, care and attention. Thanks, in advance, for trusting me with your fur baby. ️-------------------Rates:My rates fluctuate throughout the year depending on demand. When requesting my services, please confirm my rate with me prior to finalizing your booking, especially if you are booking a month or more in advance. Rates for intact (non-neutered/non-spayed) dogs:My rates for intact dogs are the same as my puppy rates & holiday puppy rates. The reason for this is because dogs that have not been neutered or spayed require extra precautions to be taken to ensure their safety and wellbeing. I have found that it is rarely the intact dog that causes issues but rather the reactions of neutered males to the presence of intact dogs. My space is setup to accommodate for this and therefore, your intact dog will never be put into any unsafe situation. If you would like more information about how I care for your intact fur baby, please don't hesitate to reach out. Drop-off & pickup times:Depending on the schedule at the time, I may be able to accommodate early and late drop-off and pickup times. If you require drop-off or pickup before 7am or after 9:30pm, an extra $15 will apply for each occurrence of early and/or late drop-off/pickup. If the drop-off or pickup times are earlier or later than I can accommodate, please schedule your pup to be dropped off the day/night before and/or picked up a day later.Daycare rates:My posted daycare rates are for services between 7am and 8pm. If you require daycare outside of these hours, an extra $15 will apply for each occurrence of early and/or late drop-off/pickup. In some instances, I will ask for you to book boarding services rather than daycare services if the drop-off or pick-up times are beyond what I can accommodate with my schedule. If the daycare duration is over 10 hours, an extra $10 will apply.Rates for dogs that require extra attention or that have special needs:Depending on the needs of your pup, an extra amount may apply and will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Drop-off or pick-up service:The posted rate for me to come pickup and/or drop-off your pup is $50 per round trip. So if I were to pickup and drop-off your pup, it would be $100 for this service unless otherwise agreed upon.

Hi there! My name is Kayla , and I’ve had a lifelong passion for animals of all kinds. From caring for my own pets to helping friends and family with theirs, I’ve always found joy in making sure animals feel safe, loved, and well cared for while their owners are away.

My motivation to become a pet sitter comes from the belief that pets deserve just as much comfort and attention as people do when their routine changes. Whether it’s daily walks, playtime, feeding, or cuddles on the couch, I treat every pet like they’re my own. I also understand how stressful it can be to leave your fur baby with someone new, which is why I prioritize trust, transparency, and communication every step of the way.

Yes, I do have experience! I’ve cared for both cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments, including seniors and pets with special needs. I’m also fully committed to health and safety, so I only accept vaccinated pets into my home.

If you’re looking for someone who will treat your pet like family, I’m your sitter!

Hello! I'm Hannah. My husband, Michael, and I work together to provide pet care services in North Vancouver. Between the 2 of us, we've got you covered and your pet will get double the love!
We became pet sitters because we would love to get a dog or cat of our own, but can't commit to ownership at this phase of our lives. Pet sitting provides a wonderful opportunity to help others with their pet care needs while also fulfilling our own desire to play with furry friends! We are eager to spend time with your pet and give them lots of attention while you are away.
Services
- Home Visits: We offer 30-minute home visits, once or twice per day. Typically, either Michael or I will visit your pet, depending on time of day and location (i.e. 1 person per home visit). Home visits will include playing and engaging with your pet, refilling food and water, cleaning up kitty litter boxes and/or messes, taking your dog out for a bathroom break, etc. Prices include care of up to 3 pets. If you are on vacation, we can also bring in the mail, take out garbage, and water house plants (as requested). We will always ensure that your house is locked and secured when we come and go. Keys will be returned to you at the end of the booking.
- Dog Walking: walks will be 30-60 minutes, depending on pet needs and owner requests. If you live near Mount Seymour Parkway, we can come to your home and walk your dog from there. For other locations, we ask that you drop off and pick up your pet at our house.
- Day Care: daily care in our home for dogs, cats, or other animals may be available for well trained pets. This service includes playing and engaging with your pet, providing food and water, bathroom breaks, and 1 walk for dogs. We ask that you only request this service if your pet is calm and independent enough to allow me to work from home during business hours. Owner is responsible for drop off and pick up at our house, as well as providing any food, toys, or other items that your pet needs.
- House Sitting: house sitting includes the same services as home visits, except that one or both of us will stay at your home for the duration of the booking. High speed, secure internet is required so that I can work remotely. Please send us a message to discuss if you are considering this option!
Availability
- I work full-time from home so my schedule is somewhat flexible. Michael works full-time in healthcare with variable hours.
- For home visits and dog walking, we are available Monday-Friday after 4pm and anytime on weekends. Depending on our work schedules, we may be able to do home visits or dog walks before 4pm on weekdays, depending on the location (please inquire for details).
Our Pet Experience:
- Since joining Pawshake, we have been hired by multiple families to do home visits for their cat(s) during their vacations. We love doing this!
- I grew up looking after my neighbour's cat and fish while they were on vacation, which was several times per year for about 10 years.
- We spend lots of time with dogs and cats owned by our friends and family, so we are very comfortable around them. We've also got experience with dog walking from helping out neighbours, friends, and family during their work and vacations.
- I had multiple gold fish for about 15 years, and even kept one of them alive for about 10 years! Michael also grew up with various types of pet fish and even a praying mantis.
We can't wait to hear from you!
~Hannah & Michael
