I have been a Volunteer Walker at the Montreal SPCA since April 2025. Every week, I provide several hours to walking all the dogs at the shelter. I also help train them so they can be ready for adoption with their furever family!&nbsp;
Caring for animals has always felt natural to me, and becoming a pet caretaker allows me to turn that passion into something meaningful every day. I’m motivated by the joy of giving pets a safe, loving, and stimulating experience while their owners are away. Whether it’s a structured neighborhood walk, a longer adventure trail for high‑energy dogs, or a gentle sniff‑walk for seniors, I tailor each outing to the pet’s needs and personality. During home visits or sleepovers, I follow each pet’s familiar routines — from feeding rituals and medication schedules to bedtime comforts like brushing, cuddles, or quiet companionship.
My experience in dog walking, pet sitting, and volunteering has taught me how to adapt to all kinds of temperaments, from shy or anxious pets to playful, energetic companions. I stay attentive to safety at all times, keeping a close eye on weather conditions, monitoring for signs of stress, and knowing how to respond calmly in unexpected situations. What motivates me most is the trust that grows between me, the pets I care for, and the people who love them. Providing reliable, compassionate care isn’t just a service for me — it’s a commitment to creating comfort, joy, and peace of mind for every family I support.&nbsp;


Bonjour &nbsp;Je suis Mélanie et je vous propose mes services de gardes d'animaux !&nbsp;Avec qui vivra votre animal ? Melanie (29 ans) et Aurélien (30 ans). Il y aura aussi Tango (berger australien de 3 ans) et Mandarine (chat de 11 ans)&nbsp;Ou habitera votre animal ? Nous avons une maison a Laval, avec une cour. Les animaux ont accès a toutes les pièces !&nbsp;Comment se passe la garde ? Pour les chiens nous prévoyons toujours deux grandes balades, 1 le matin et une le soir. Les animaux doivent aussi être autonomes car il est possible que nous soyons tous les deux absents. Sur le principe, nous acceptons tous les types d'animaux, mais il faudra prévoir une rencontre préalable pour s'assurer que tout le monde s'entend bien Il est également possible de prévoir des visites a votre domicile, si cela est plus confortable pour votre animal !Je dispense les soins de base aux animaux : nourriture, brossage, jeux...Nous avons toujours vécu avec des animaux et c'est un vrai plaisir d'en avoir au quotidien, ils seront toujours traité avec respect, attention et beaucoup de soin !&nbsp;

I have a 5 yo Springer Aussiedoodle (Suzie) who is very friendly, calm and well-behaved, and she is always delighted to spend time with other dogs (especially puppies)!  I know how important it is for dogs to have playmates and socialize, so I want to offer other dogs this precious opportunity to have fun, expend energy, and feel loved and pampered while their owners are busy or away.&nbsp;
I work from home, so I am available all day to accommodate another dog. My criteria for the dogs I welcome reflect my priority towards their well-being, safety, and harmony in my environment. I am open to exclusively welcoming dogs that are spayed/neutered and vaccinated, which ensures not only their own health but also that of my dog. &nbsp;
Finally, I live in a house in Lachine with a large fenced yard, and we are close to various parks and the Lachine Canal, so there is the opportunity to take the dogs out for them to relieve themselves and expend their energy. &nbsp;

J’ai une aussidoodle de 4 ans (Suzie) qui est très friendly, calme et bien éduquée, et elle est toujours ravie de passer du temps avec d'autres chiens (particulièrement les chiots).  Je sais à quel point il est important pour les chiens d'avoir des compagnons de jeu et de se socialiser, donc je pourrai offrir à d'autres chiens cette opportunité précieuse de se divertir, de se dépenser et de se sentir aimés et choyés pendant que leurs propriétaires sont occupés ou absents.  &nbsp;
Je travaille de la maison, donc je suis disponible toute la journée pour accueillir un autre chien. Mes critères pour les chiens que j'accueille reflètent ma priorité envers leur bien-être, la sécurité et l'harmonie dans mon environnement. Je suis ouverte à accueillir exclusivement des chiens stérilisés et vaccinés, ce qui garantit non seulement leur propre santé, mais aussi celle de mon chien. &nbsp;
Enfin, nous restons dans une maison à Lachine avec une grande cour clôturée, à proximité de nombreux parcs et du canal Lachine, donc possibilité de sortir les chiens afin qu’ils puissent faire leurs besoins et dépenser leur énergie. &nbsp;
