Top cities for dog boarding in Canada

For pet parents, one of the hardest things about going to work each day is wondering what your dog will get up to while you are gone. At Pawshake, we understand that dogs need activity and interaction during the day, so why not book your dog with one of our trusted sitters in Highwood for a doggy day care service? You can drop your dog off at the sitter’s home on the way to work or organise with your local Highwood Pawshake sitter to pick up and drop off your dog for you.

Pet day care is a great way to keep your dog mentally and physically active during the day so that you can come home to a happy, relaxed dog. Pawshake’s home day care service is great for young dogs who need constant supervision: puppy daycare allows your pup to maintain a consistent routine, which is important during the toilet training process. It’s also a great option for dogs who need extra care and attention, or those who are extra active.

Our sitters who offer doggy day care and puppy daycare services are more adaptable than your average big day care centre. Numbers are kept small and some Pawshake sitters will only take in one dog at a time. This means they can work around your timing and any special requirements your dog may have. So, let your four-legged best friend enjoy their day with a fun and loving Highwood sitter who will shower them with love and dedicated attention. On top of that, you will also get photos and updates during the day so that you can follow your dog’s day care adventures!

Every day care booking also comes included with The Pawshake Guarantee, which includes veterinary coverage, customer service support 7 days a week and more.

I have adored all animals since I was a kid, growing up on a farm I cared for horses, cows, Chickens, pigs, goats and many dogs. As I got older the connection I felt to animals grew stronger and I found myself dreaming about caring for them on a regular basis. In 2018 I worked with Rescue Paws Thailand for 7 months to help control the population of stray dogs, I couldn't be more grateful for this experience as this is where I met my bestfriend Chazzy, (my dog) who is a special part of our family now.Today I have 2 animals of my own, a doggo and bunny. I have experience working in a professional daycare environment, as well as home-based which is what I offer full-time. I have 22 Years experience working and loving animals of all breeds, I believe animals are family, and I intend to treat yours just like my own.I am home full time mon-friday, with the acception of leaving the house for 1-2 hours Max and I can board on weekends if we discuss ahead of time.I do not allow any animals during their phase of heat I'm sorry.I offer a cozy sleeping area for all guests filled with blankets and soft beds, although some may choose to sleep where they want.Bathroom breaks ( and play time ) will happen in my large fenced in yard where there will be puppy pool pawties in the summer as well. I offer mental stimulation with games and tunnels, and physical stimulation with daily walks and special adventures to the park.I offer Bath & Brushes, nail trims, playdates, and more!I can have 4 guests here at all times not including my own pets, and walks will be offered depended on availability. I live with my fiance and our fur babies. My fiance works outside the house full-time but also helps me with animal care on weekends

Hi! My name is Maryna, and I’m a genuine animal lover who would be happy to spend my free time caring for your furry friend. I especially love dogs and believe that they deserve patience, kindness, attention, and plenty of affection. I enjoy walking, being outdoors, and spending time with animals, so dog walking and pet care feel like a perfect combination for me.
I’m a calm, responsible, and attentive person. I understand that every dog has a different personality, routine, and comfort level, and I always try to follow the owner’s instructions carefully. Whether your dog loves long walks, gentle exploring, playing, or simply having someone nearby, I’m happy to adapt to their needs.
My walks can include a relaxed neighbourhood walk, playtime, fresh water, and lots of attention. I’m also happy to provide basic care such as feeding, giving treats according to your instructions, and making sure your pet is comfortable and safe.
I’m most comfortable caring for friendly, social dogs and small-to-medium-sized pets. I’m happy to discuss your dog’s personality, routine, energy level, and any special requirements before booking.
My goal is simple: I want your pet to feel safe, loved, and happy while you’re away. ️

As a dedicated pet lover with a deep passion for animals, being a pet sitter is not just a job for me, but a calling. I believe that pets are beloved members of our families, and they deserve the highest level of care and attention when their owners are away.
With years of experience in pet care, including volunteering at local animal shelters and fostering animals in need, I have honed my skills in providing exceptional care for a variety of pets, including dogs, cats, birds, and small mammals. I understand the unique needs and personalities of different animals, and I am committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for them.
One of my top priorities as a pet sitter is the health and safety of the pets in my care. That's why I require all pets to be up-to-date on vaccinations to ensure the well-being of both the visiting pets and those in my home. This policy ensures a healthy and secure environment for all furry guests. I have a very secure location in my house where they are allowed to roam freely in the house with my backyard being the place best to hang out. I prefer the environment where the client is more comfortable towards its furry being as I understand animals love to stay more where they have grown up. I'm open to stay at client's house for a day or two for house sitting.
As a pet sitter, I offer a range of services tailored to the needs of each individual pet, including regular exercise, feeding, bathing, and administering medication if necessary. I am also skilled in handling emergencies giving pet owners peace of mind knowing that their beloved pets are in capable and caring hands.
Above all, my motivation to be a pet sitter stems from my unwavering love and passion for animals. I am dedicated to providing the best care possible for pets, creating a stress-free and enjoyable experience for them, and building lasting relationships with both the pets and their owners.

! Please note that although we love all pets, we can ONLY look after CATS at this time !

My family and I have always had cats. The cat I grew up with was more of a sibling than a pet, and my current cats are my children. I've had many a cat friend (and occasionally got along with them better than with their humans!), and in social situations, I dedicate as long to my friends' pets as I do to my friends themselves. I've trained my cats to do tricks, walk on a leash, and I brush their teeth daily.

Please make sure to let me know ahead of time if your cats have any preference, special needs, or particular behaviours that I should be aware of; I should be able to accommodate most of these. For instance, I can mix different types of food, adding some water to their food, heating it when it comes out of the fridge, adding supplements/medicine, etc. In some cases, I may also be able to trim claws, clean ears, and the like, if your cat is particularly friendly, too! I have experience administering medicine (pills, liquid medicine injected orally, inhaler, etc.).

I have over 15 years of professional experience working with and training dogs in the K9 sector. Dogs have been a major part of my professional life, and I understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, routine, and training needs.
When your dog is in my care, my priority is to provide a safe, comfortable, structured, and positive environment. I treat every dog with the same attention and care I would expect for my own.
Boarding & Day Care
Dogs staying with me receive regular exercise, playtime, rest periods, feeding according to the owner’s instructions, and plenty of individual attention. I keep the number of dogs in my care limited so that I can properly supervise them and give each dog the attention it deserves.
Safety is extremely important to me. Dogs are supervised carefully, and I do not introduce unfamiliar dogs together without first considering their temperament, behaviour, size, and compatibility. Feeding, exercise, and rest can also be managed separately when necessary.
Owners are welcome to discuss their dog’s normal routine with me before the stay, including feeding schedules, allergies, behaviour, special requirements, and anything that helps their dog feel comfortable.
If your dog requires medication, please provide clear written instructions. I am happy to follow the dog’s normal medication routine where I am comfortable and able to do so safely.
I also understand how important it is to know that your dog is doing well while you are away. I can provide regular photo, video, and message updates during your dog’s stay, and you are always welcome to ask how your dog is doing.
Training During Their Stay
Because of my professional K9 training background, I am happy to work on basic obedience and good everyday behaviour while your dog is with me. This can include commands such as sit, down, stay, recall, leash manners, focus, and other appropriate exercises depending on the individual dog.
If you have something specific you would like your dog to practice during their stay, please let me know when booking. Where appropriate, I will be happy to work on it at no additional charge.
Dog Walking
Walks are a minimum of 30 minutes, with the duration and intensity adjusted according to the dog’s age, breed, health, fitness, temperament, and energy level. Active dogs can receive longer exercise when appropriate. My goal is not simply to walk your dog for a set amount of time, but to make sure the exercise is suitable and enjoyable for them.
Pet Sitting
I understand that some dogs are happiest staying in their own familiar environment. I am flexible with pet-sitting arrangements and will do my best to maintain your dog’s normal feeding, walking, exercise, and daily routine according to your instructions.
Before any service, I am happy to discuss your dog’s temperament, routine, training, behaviour, and individual needs. For boarding, you are also welcome to see where your dog will be staying beforehand.
With my professional K9 background, you are leaving your dog with someone who has spent many years understanding canine behaviour, handling, training, and care. Whether your dog is staying for a day, overnight, going for a walk, or simply needs someone dependable while you are away, my goal is for you to feel confident and for your dog to return home safe, comfortable, exercised, and happy.
This should address almost every point the validation system flagged while also making your professional K9 background stand out much more clearly.
One change I especially recommend: don’t promise that every dog will “learn new tricks and commands.” Instead, say you’re happy to work on appropriate training during the stay. That sounds more professional and avoids promising results you can’t guarantee with every dog.

Hello there! I'm Oindrila, you can call me Cinderella. Thanks for stopping by my profile. I've loved dogs for as long as I can remember. Growing up, I was always happiest around animals, and my own Golden Retriever, Buddy, was a huge part of my life before he sadly passed away last year. Looking after dogs of different breeds, ages, and personalities has only strengthened my passion for providing them with a safe, loving, and comfortable environment. At the moment, I am home full-time, which means your dog will receive my full attention throughout the day. I grew up having dogs and I have always loved all animals.
I run a travel business that takes me away a few times a year, so I can’t have my own pet — but I’d love to care for yours.

I work from home most days, so I’m around and flexible. Long hours on the computer can get lonely, and having a dog to care for makes a huge difference for me. I’ll make sure it makes a difference for your pet too.

*What I Offer Your Pet*
- *Active companionship*: I love walks and runs, and I’d enjoy the company on daily outings.
- *Calm, safe environment*: My home is clean, quiet, and peaceful. Dogs settle in quickly here.
- *Pet-ready space*: Fenced yard that dogs love, crates if needed, a doggie bench by the window, plus balls and toys for play.
- *Gentle care*: I have a quiet, calm personality. Pets seem to love my Spanish accent and soft tone of voice. I’m intuitive and sensitive to what animals need.
*Safety, Trust & Environment*
Safety comes first. My home is clean, quiet, and fully set up for pets with a fenced yard, so dogs can play and burn energy safely off-leash. I keep hazardous items secured, use crates when needed for naps or decompression, and always supervise playtime. I have a nice deck with big windiws and plenty of toys for enrichment, so pets feel comfortable and stimulated.
I work from home most days, so pets aren’t left alone for long stretches. I stick to your pet’s routine for feeding, walks, and rest to keep them settled. I’m calm and intuitive, and I pay close attention to body language so I can adjust if a pet seems stressed or needs space.
*Trust & Communication:*
I know you’re trusting me with family, so I keep communication open. I’ll message you with updates, photos, and let you know right away if anything unusual comes up. I’m reliable, flexible, and I care for each pet like I would my own.

Bottom line: calm environment, clear routine, constant supervision, and lots of love.
Pet care fits right into my day since I work from home running my travel business. My schedule is flexible, so I can structure my work around your pet’s routine.*A typical day looks like:*- *Morning*: First walk and feeding right after I start my day. If your dog likes runs, mornings work great for that too.- *Midday*: Break for a walk, playtime in the yard, or cuddle time while I take a break from work. - *Afternoon/Evening*: Another walk, play with toys/balls, and sticking to your feeding and bedtime routine.Since I’m home most of the day, your pet won’t be left alone for long stretches. I’m available for extra potty breaks, longer walks, and quick check-ins between tasks.I travel for work a few times a year, but when I’m home I’m fully available. For boarding or drop-ins, I plan my work calls around walks and playtime so your pet gets consistent attention. If I have a busy day coming up, I’ll let you know ahead of time and adjust the schedule to make sure nothing gets missed.Basically: work happens around the dog, not the other way around.

I’m looking forward to giving your dog or cat the same care and attention I’d give my own. If you think we’d be a good fit, send me a message and we can set up a meet and greet.

I am Talvir D and let me tell you a little bit of who I am. I specialize in training big dogs such an cane corso’s, I work with separation anxiety, aggressive behaviour, anxiety triggered aggression, pulling while walking, patience cues, anything and everything correlated with behaviour development. I’m extremely proud of what I do and my abilities to deliver on what I promise I say that very confidently. A lil bit more about myself, I am currently attending mount royal university and trying to complete my degree in Athletic Therapy, my goals in the future are to obtain my degree and become a physiotherapist. I love athletics and the outdoors to be honest anything to do with being active. I myself have be heavily involved in sports from a very young age and just more of a outdoor kid rather than inside playing games. that being said i continued to excel in every sport I played such as basketball, volleyball, and track/field. I have competed at a high level in each of the mentioned sports, I played all through high school and achieved a ton of experience and enjoyed it to the fullest. I personally also am very passionate in the rehabilitation and rehab side of athletics as well as the competition at a elite level. I took 3 years of sports medicine and loved each and every moment of it, allowed me to not only become a better athlete but allowed me to help fellow teammates with injury assessment and rehab. I have been nominated for athlete of the year and continue to peruse basketball at a post-secondary level. I am heavily involved within the community with charity events to help the less fortunate and in the end grow as a community. Taking care of dogs just seems like the ultimate job to have fun and be happy.

The back yard has 3 separate areas all fenced off, main area largest space 6ft fence grassy. Smaller area with 4ft fence and stone ground. And large areas grassy 4ft fence. All areas are for dogs to have their own areas to play and if needed me separated.

Inside carpet in living room just got it steam cleaned so please let me know if your pup isn't house trained. Hallways and kitchen is tiled, basement is also carpet but they won't be downstairs unless it's really hot upstairs and they need to cool off.

Hello!
After being gone traveling for housesitting and pet sitting in B.C. and Alberta I am back in Calgary and looking forward to taking care of your pets! See my gallery for some of my 5 star reviews!!
I just moved to a new build so my backyard is not finished which means right now your pups get to go on more walks!
My dog Bailey & I are looking forward to caring for your home &/or pets!
I work from home coaching people to help them live their best life. Pets are usually not left alone longer than a couple of hours in a day.
I have many years of experience with animals. I do animal healing as well.
Your pets and your home will be in good hands!
I have experience in giving meds, senior care, anxiety etc for those that need some extra love and care.
Bailey is a small dog and is a very gentle soul. He does well with many animals.
I am open to long term stays as well :)
A little more about me.... I grew up on a farm and learned to love animals at a very young age. Cats, bunnies, dogs etc. I use to talk to them as a child. If you asked my sister she'd tell you I called the ants my friends! Who knew where the connection with animals would lead me.
in my business I use the guidance our animals are always giving us as a way to help their humans live the life they were truly meant too.
Bailey and I love to go on adventures whether that be a stroll in the lark or taking a ride to the mountains.
i start my mornings with a dog walk (weather permitting .... Eek winter!!). And I often take a walking break mid day or close to supper as a way to end the day.
We do go off leash, but I am also open to taking any dog that needs to be on leash only. I work with the comfort of your pet.
Walks are anywhere from 30 mins-60 mins at a time. At least twice a day. Depending on weather and animal comfort & safety.
Your animals will be safe and protected as if they are one of my very own.
i take pictures and videos often and send them to you while you are away !
i may ask a lot of questions because I want to make sure your pets feel at home with me.
I am open to many dog cuddles as possible!
I am open to a video chat and a meet and greet!
PS I am open to dog sitting outside of Calgary as I'm often in Canmore & Banff area as well as Cochrane & Okotoks
