My family and I have always had cats. The cat I grew up with was more of a sibling than a pet, and my current cats are my children. I've had many a cat friend (and occasionally got along with them better than with their humans!), and in social situations, I dedicate as long to my friends' pets as I do to my friends themselves. I've trained my cats to do tricks, walk on a leash, and I brush their teeth daily.

Please make sure to let me know ahead of time if your cats have any preference, special needs, or particular behaviours that I should be aware of; I should be able to accommodate most of these. For instance, I can mix different types of food, adding some water to their food, heating it when it comes out of the fridge, adding supplements/medicine, etc. In some cases, I may also be able to trim claws, clean ears, and the like, if your cat is particularly friendly, too! I have experience administering medicine (pills, liquid medicine injected orally, inhaler, etc.).


My love for animals has lead me to here.  I have fostered for CHS for 4 years dealing with reactive, shut-down and special needs dogs.  I am Canine CPR- First Aid Certified. My style is calm yet firm only showing love and affection catering to the needs of each dog. I live in a quite neighborhood next to a big dog park( with the option to go) and plenty of safe routes to walk. I have 2 dog friendly cats that will be present or not depending on the dog(s). My cats have their own room and so can the dog(s) if needed. My cats are non reactive and independent. I have/can care for all sizes dogs of all ages. I will care for pups too young to be vaccinate but all other dogs must be vaccinated.&nbsp;

I feed them, scoop the litter, brush them, and play with them if they are ok with that. I am pretty flexible and can adapt to your needs.I can administer medication, including injections if required. I've been loving animals since I can remember. Growing up, I was the go-to around the neighborhood for friends and loved ones who needed their pets looked after, and that's only continued into my adulthood. I have taken care of the furry friends of friends and strangers alike (cats, dogs, fish, salamanders), and my longest live-in sitting job was for a week and a half (for two high-energy schnauzer-doodle mixes).
I am a student at MRU, and the vast majority of my day is open for house visits or walks. I am available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings - essentially just whenever you need someone to pop in. I'm also available for overnight care on nights that I am not working at my library job. My husband takes care of the house and our cats whenever I'm watching pets overnight, so all is taken care of on that front.
I currently have two cats of my own - Seth and Astrid - and they are the lights of my life. I've also owned Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and geckos, so I'm well versed in the care of small animals. I have experience with disabled animals (one of my cats is deaf, so I understand alternative methods of communication with animals), and experience with behavioural issues or difficult personalities (my other cat has extreme anxiety around people, so we have had to adapt our lives in order to help her be comfortable.) I also have experience walking reactive dogs, though I would prefer not to unless I understand their personalities and triggers better.

I'm a lifelong animal lover. I grew up in my father's vet clinic (he's now retired) in BC, with cats, dogs, horses, and a random assortment of wild animals we looked after for rescues. Unfortunately, I am now allergic to dogs, so I can only offer cat sitting. I have lots of experience with senior cats and cats with health issues.&nbsp;
We have three cats of our own, one of whom is a very fussy 19! We absolutely adore our floofs, and we have been thrilled with our cat sitter. Having experienced how much it helped us to know our fur kids are in good hands, I've been motivated to start offering to help others the same way.
I'll spend an hour with your cat(s) each visit to ensure they have some socialization and play time. If they like or need brushing, I'll make sure they are brushed. One of my cats is learning to use speech buttons, so if your cat uses buttons, I'm familiar with how that works.&nbsp;
If your cat requires a second visit each day for medication reasons, I can accommodate that, too. In those cases, one visit would be short - roughly half an hour. The other would be a longer, more social visit.
I'll also make sure to water plants and bring in your mail. I have quite a few plants of my own and work as a professional freelance gardener, so I'm pretty good with plants.&nbsp;
