Hi! My name is Karen, and I’m a lifelong animal lover with a genuine passion for caring for pets. I’ve been surrounded by animals for as long as I can remember, growing up with dogs and learning from a young age the responsibility, patience, and love that go into caring for them properly. 
Over the years, I’ve also had the pleasure of looking after cats and dogs for friends, family, and fellow pet parents, building experience with different personalities, energy levels, and routines.

During home visits, I make sure pets are fed, have fresh water, are exercised, and receive companionship and attention.&nbsp;For house sitting, I stay in the owner's home and follow the pet's routine closely. Pets are typically not left alone for more than 3-4 hours at a time, depending on their needs. I provide a calm and consistent environment so they feel safe and comfortable .I have a flexible daily schedule, which allows me to be available throughout the day for walks, visits, and overnight care. I can also assist with basic training reinforcement such as simple commands, routines, and positive behavior. I am attentive to pets with different temperaments and can accommodate specific needs when discussed in advance.In case of any emergency, I will follow the owner's instructions and contact them immediately, and I am attentive to any changes in a pet's behavior or health.I also have a friendly and well-socialized 5-month-old Golden Retriever, which has helped me become even more attentive to dogs’ behavior, needs, and communication.Although I am new to Pawshake, I have experience caring for pets of friends and family, including feeding, walking, and providing companionship. For everyone’s safety and well-being, I only care for vaccinated pets.My goal is to make sure both pets and owners feel comfortable and at ease. Being left with a new pal can range from exciting to confusing for your pet, so I'm conscious about maintaining their routines and providing a welcoming environment to help with the transition. I have my very own cat Tara - which means a star in my languge, simply because that is what she is to us. I am very conscious of the cat meals, playtime and safety of the cat. I can even make some home made cat meals if that is a preference. I volunteer as a foster for a couple of organizations and help whenever possible either via donations or something as simple as driving cats to vet visits, just playing with them, etc. While I always recommend that you have pet cameras in your home, but you can trust that your cat will be well taken care of when and as you need while I am sitting them. I am a university student who has a tons of spare time currently, I only have class two days a week and would like to walk your dogs. I have two dogs of my own and have had 5 within my lifetime, all have been sweet and wonderful. I love animal and I currently walk my dogs as well as family and friends dogs often and would love to walk yours too. I have been taking care of and walking dogs for the past 10 years and absolutely love animals. I do my best to make sure my dogs are well trained and have a healthy active lifestyle, I love taking the time to bond with the dogs on walks and for my personal dogs I take that time to train them as well. I've dealt with dogs that hate getting up and having to go for walks to dogs that are extremely energetic and no matter what type of dog I'm walking they always are having fun and end up enjoying the walk. My dog Theo is a couch potato but after a few walks I got him to stop pulling when walking, walk by my side and we got so much closer. I also have experience with cats and have two of my own, as well as experience with taking care of ferrets, lizards and other small rodents. Hi! I currently live in Bloorwest village, though I grew up on a Christmas tree farm on the weekends around nature and wildlife. I've been around animals my whole life with dogs, cats, rats, hamsters, and mice as our other family members and my dad being a veterinarian.I went vegan about 10 years ago after volunteering at a farm sanctuary for rescued animals. I have a cat named Xander (Buffy reference..) who is my world. While I would love to have a dog as well, I don't have the space currently for one. I currently work in retail, and one of the best parts of my job is when customers come in with their dogs! Animals make my life brighter and I would love to have dog walking be a regular part of my life.I'm a very detail oriented person so the more details the better when it comes to looking after your furbaby on walks. I would love to hear about their personality, likes and dislikes, any triggers they may have, so that they have the most enjoyable walk and their needs are met, and so that I feel fully prepared.
