Many cat owners will understand that cats can be fussy and prefer their own home environment rather than an unfamiliar place like a cattery or cat hotel. Although some cats can adapt to cat boarding if they have to, most cats become stressed when transported somewhere new.

This is where a friendly Oak Bay Pawshake cat feeder or carer can help. Our Oak Bay cat sitting expert can come and visit your cat while you are away on holiday or at work. A cat sitter can even stay overnight if required, which is far less stressful than sending your feline friend to a cattery for cat boarding. Whether you just need a sitter for a couple of hours or someone to visit each day for a week, our Oak Bay cat sitters can tailor their service to suit you and please even the fussiest kitty.

Although most cats are independent, having a cat carer visit has a lot of benefits. Your chosen Pawshake cat sitter can feed, freshen up the water bowl, tidy the litter tray, and spend quality time with your cat. And unlike a cattery or cat hotel, your cat can chill out in their own familiar space.

Finally, every booking with Pawshake is with a verified carer and includes the Pawshake Guarantee and veterinary coverage, so you have nothing to worry about when it comes to your feline companion!

As a dedicated cat lover, I provide reliable and compassionate care for your feline friends while you're away. Whether it's feeding, playtime, cuddles, or just keeping them company, I will make sure your cat feels safe, comfortable, and loved. Having had cats my whole life, I am experienced in caring for all kinds of cats and temperaments, and understand howimportant it is to have someone you can trust with your pet.

Home visits are 30 minutes. This includes:
- feeding your pet and filling their water
- cleaning the litter box
- playing with them/providing pets or cuddles, as requested.

I also sometimes take housesit/boarding requests, offering extra peace of mind and company for your pet.

I work a regular job M-F 8-4:30, but am otherwise flexible with timing of visits.

I primarily serve James Bay but am also available in some nearby areas.I look forward to meeting you and your cat!

Hi there! I'm a full-time writer who loves caring for dogs. I've had the responsibility of pets my entire life, and over the last five years have taken care of an Australian cattle dog whom I adore.
I have extensive experience in managing the needs of very high-energy dogs, but also pets with special needs as I had a cat with Type 1 diabetes for 15 years to whom I had to give insulin shots twice a day. Whether your dog needs tender care at home or needs to go on a 6km hike every day, I'm happy to help.
I am loving, conscientious, and kind. Most of all, I'm trustworthy. Because I spend so much time behind a computer, taking care of your dog or cat would be the highlight of my day. Walks are 45 minutes minimum, and usually longer. I give my all to my animal friends. It also means that I won't be overbooking myself while your dog or cat is in my care.
Get in touch if you'd like to learn more about me and my approach to pet care!

Hi! I’m Nusrat, and I’m passionate about caring for pets of all kinds . I have hands-on experience looking after dogs and cats of different ages, sizes, and personalities — from energetic puppies who need lots of playtime to senior pets who prefer calm walks and extra attention. I’ve also cared for pets with special needs, including administering medications, monitoring health, and adjusting routines to keep them comfortable and safe.

Every pet has a unique personality, and I tailor my approach to match theirs. For example, shy or anxious pets get extra reassurance and gentle encouragement, while active dogs enjoy structured walks and interactive games. I also follow consistent routines for feeding, bathroom breaks, and exercise to help pets feel secure while you’re away.

Safety is my top priority. I always supervise pets during walks and playtime, ensure secure environments, and am trained to handle unexpected situations calmly — from minor scrapes to sudden stress in pets. I communicate regularly with owners, sending updates, photos, and notes so you can feel confident your furry family member is happy and cared for.

I have flexible availability, including weekdays, evenings, and weekends, making it easy to fit your schedule. With me, your pets will receive love, attention, and personalized care — I treat them just like my own!
