Hello there!
I'm Niru, and I'm a graduate student at the University of Alberta.
Obviously, I enjoy spending time with animals! Growing up, I mostly had cats around because my mother adores them, but I've never missed out on an opportunity to play with or take care of my friends' dogs. Whenever I spend some time with them, I always come out feeling a little happier, and that's the main reason I'm here.
I have classes for a few hours on a few days of the week, but whenever I'm available, I would love to offer your pets my company and care. If they like to play, I can play, or if they like to be left alone, I can just keep an eye on them and let them do their thing. I live literally next to Mill Creek, so there's plenty of space for walks around here (although if your pet has a preferred route, that's fine too), and I'm also happy to do drop-ins if that's all you need. The duration of the walks can be tailored according to your needs, but in general, I'd prefer 30 minute walks. Drop-ins would also be about 30 to 60 minutes each, unless you have different requirements. During drop-ins, I will feed your pet, clean up after them, take them out if needed and give them lots of pets and cuddles. I'm happy to do 24 hour house-sits as well, but if the arrangement is going to be for several days, I would obviously have to leave the house every now and then to attend classes, get groceries and so on. At the end of the day, I want to be sure that I'm doing right by you and your pets, so I'm happy to tailor my services to your needs. I am fully vaccinated and am happy to keep my mask on at all times. Do get in touch with me if I can be of any help!

My motivation to be a pet sitter comes from a very personal place. I truly miss my dogs back home, I have six dogs, and being away from them while studying has been one of the hardest adjustments for me. Caring for animals has always been a meaningful part of my daily life, and pet sitting allows me to fill that space while doing something joyful, comforting, and purposeful in my spare time.
I want to help pet parents feel at ease knowing their pets are safe, loved, and well cared for while they are away. I understand how much trust it takes to leave your pet with someone else, and my goal is to be a reliable and attentive sitter so owners don’t have to worry about their “babies” at home.
While I may not have formal experience as a professional pet sitter, I have extensive hands-on experience from caring for my own six dogs. I have always been responsible for preparing their food, giving medication when needed, brushing their fur, and making sure they are comfortable and happy. Weirdly enough, I even found joy in laying on the floor with them—something my dogs loved and something that reminded me how meaningful simple companionship can be.


I grew up with both cats and dogs and was actively involved in their daily care and training. I have also provided pet sitting in my own home for many years.&nbsp;I now have a small parrot, I currently offer pet care services in clients’ homes instead. I’m very comfortable around animals and have always had a natural ability to connect with them, including pets that are shy or nervous around new people. I’m confident handling and walking dogs of all sizes and temperaments.I work from home and do not have a strict full-time schedule, which allows me plenty of flexibility and time to provide attentive care. Spending time with animals is something I genuinely enjoy, and I make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and well cared for while their owners are away.I offer drop-in visits and walks where pets will be fed, given fresh water, and socialized with. I’m also happy to care for additional pets in the home, including many exotic animals.
