There are so many benefits to being a part of the largest pet sitting community in Canada – from premium pet insurance, to exposure to a huge number of pet owners who need a carer for their fur kids, to knowing that all payments are processed safely through the site.
Every day, thousands of sitters, owners and a whole lot of furry friends have great experiences on Pawshake – and we want to make sure this continues! Here are a few tips for protecting your profile information from online scams and phishing.
Change your password from time to time
As with any online account, it’s a good idea to change up your password every few months just to be on the safe side.
Always book through the Pawshake platform
Aside from racking up some great reviews for your profile and ranking higher on the search results, bookings that go through Pawshake are insured and on record for our customer service team to give you a hand if necessary. Let us know if you are ever asked to pay cash, as this is where problems nearly always begin.
Never send out your password, payment or account information
It goes without saying (but still is worth a mention!). Unless you are corresponding with our customer service team through the official channels of info@pawshake.com.au, never send your personal information online. And we will never ask for your password either!
Always take the time to meet and greet
It’s a sure way to ensure a successful booking! Everyone can make sure they’re on the same page, your pet can have a nice play and cuddle and both sitter and owner can feel good about the person they are going to be booking with. It puts the human touch into the Pawshake experience and ensures you aren’t leaving your pet with someone you haven’t even met.
Communicate through Pawshake
Keep an eye out for users who ask to immediately contact you via email rather than make arrangements first through the Pawshake site, or who ask for extensive personal details or send you strange links to click on. A simple solve – just let us know! We can step in and help out anytime.
It’s unlikely you’ll ever encounter any issues like this on the site, but if in doubt just drop us a line and we’ll be there. Happy sitting!
