Top cities for house sitting in Canada

Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Maple home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Maple.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Maple home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

My name is Jenna, I'm 27, and I have lived with either one or 2 cats in my home my entire life since I was about 5 years old. I know how hard it can be to find dedicated cat sitters when most pet care sites and services tend to be catered toward dogs, with cats as an afterthought.
I want to provide cat care you can rely on. Wether your fur baby is playful, fearful, energetic, lethargic, young, old, I can adjust to their needs and be sure they are fed and comfortable while you're away. My availability is usually very flexible and I'm quick with communication so you will never have to worry about how the little one is doing, as I can always provide prompt updates to ease your mind. I am available for check-ins as well as overnight stays, which can include feeding, administering medication, or simply just playing and/or keeping them company.
I've always had an affliction for cats and strive to provide care where cats are at the forefront, not just an afterthought behind dogs. Your little one will always be in good hands.

Hi there! We're Ellier and Kerv, a Chinese/Canadian-Peruvian couple that has been house-sitting across Panama, Costa Rica, Mexico and now in Canada. We love being around animals and having had a blast with all the house-sits we've done across the world. We started house-sitting in April 2022 with a 2.5 month house-sit in Panama where we took care of three dogs. The owners were worried about finding a sitter for their Italian Mastiff who is quite the alpha dog, but we had no problem taking care of him and developing a bond with him!Our next house-sit was in Costa Rica where we took care of two dogs and two cats. The owners called Kerv a dog whisperer because he trained them to go in the water at the beach - something the owners have wanted to do for ages! Then we did more house-sits across Mexico with various dogs and cats of all breeds and ages. And now we're in Canada, having completed a dog-sit in Montreal, and a couple more sits in Markham and Toronto. In all our house-sits, we sent frequent photos and videos to the owners and maintained contact throughout. We kept the houses in pristine condition and took great care of all the things around the house. If you are looking for reliable house-sitters, look no further. We've got you covered!

Hi, I’m Sara, I’m a dedicated pet sitter who believes that every animal deserves a caregiver who truly "gets" them. I’ve always found it easy to connect with pets of all temperaments, and I pride myself on being a calm, observant, and reliable presence in their lives. Whether your dog needs an energetic walking partner or your cat prefers a quiet companion to sit nearby, I’m here to provide whatever makes them feel most comfortable.
I understand that leaving your pet can be stressful, so I treat your home and your furry family members with the utmost respect and empathy. I’m a big believer in clear communication, so you can expect regular updates and plenty of photos to keep you connected while you’re away. My goal is simple: to follow your routine perfectly and ensure your pet feels safe, loved, and happy until the moment you walk back through the door.

Hiii, I'm pargol, I'm 18 years old and I would love to be your pets new friend.
I love pets so much and they are one of my family, I love spending time with them and take care of them.
In my neighborhoods everyone are pet friendly and so many people have pets.
I could spend 1 hour in your home when you decide that I came to visit your pet or more if you want and how hours do you want when you are in trip, when you are in trip I could be able to water plants.
We could talk about how much time do you want me to walk your dog outside and where.
I'm full available right now.
When I was 14 I often looked after my aunt’s German Shepherd—taking him out for potty breaks and feeding her.
I also cared for my sister’s cat for 2 years while she was at work: feeding, cleaning the litter, playing, and even trimming its nails and I was with her 12 hours daily.
I take care of so many dogs and cats for 1 year cause I like spending time with them.
And I can't take cats and dogs to my place cause I'm living with my sisters cat but I will come to your place for take care of them and going out with them and anything else for them I would love to do.

I've taken care of dogs of every kind most of my life, and I love all animals. I will be able to walk, feed, play with, bathe, your pets and even administer medication(s) if required. I will treat your pup(s) friend like a family member as if they were my own. There are lovely parks in the area and I also have a car to take them to off leash parks in the area. Over the years I have I also volunteered with various rescue organizations and I have taken care of many dogs for both family and friends.
I have an open home, and accept dogs of all shapes, sizes, breeds and ages, and don't have a dog in my home at present, (which is ideal for dogs that may require solo care). There are lots of parks in the area and paths we can walk through together, and lots of other pups in the area to play with, (if your pup is good with other dogs).
Pups are allowed on my furniture and I encourage it. I do however, go by your pup's program, schedule and what you wish. They will be walked every 3-4 hours and also they will be fed based on their current schedule. As I am alone in my apartment, I am able to devote all my time on your pup. The longest I would ever be out of my home is 2 hours however, because I am primarily home, that won't be very frequently.
I have a one bedroom apartment on the 2nd floor. I do not have any plants only artificial which are out of reach. I have a very dog friendly apartment. The building is very dog friendly. I also have an elevator in case your pup doesn't like stairs.
I have a balcony which has artificial grass and also I have places for your pup to sit and enjoy a little sunbathing. I will never leave your pup unattended on the balcony.
Before I accept any dog, I like to arrange a meet-and-greet, so make sure we all get along, and so if you think I might be a great fit, please contact me, and let's have a chat!
