 Born at the Royal Colombian Hospital in New Westminster, BC but raised in Calgary, AB, and after taking all the psych, philosophy, English/poetry, Math, &amp; linguistics courses at Mount Royal College, I became a professional student! So, at 22 I moved to BC and was involved in the hospitality industry as a bartender/server (manager &amp; music bingo host) for 14 years before finding out I’m amazing as an Administrative Assistant for a family run label/sticker company, but alas I was still missing my passion. My soul sister in Calgary reminded me of my gift with animals and the urge to want to help people, so my adventure back to Alberta started in 2018….
 I have been surrounded by animals since I was born! From cats to dogs to snakes and geckos to bunnies and budgies to chinchillas and cockatiels to fish and frogs to hamsters and ferrets. I just love to help pets and their parents! 
 In 2018 I was accepted into the Veterinary Medical Receptionist program at Olds College in Olds, AB and graduated with Distinction It then, catapulted me into the AHT condensed 2-year program where I graduated with honours  and passed the VTNE (national exam) Good Friday Apr. 2022—it was a GREAT Friday  Feel free to verify my credentials on the ABVMA website, where I’m licensed as a Registered Veterinary Technologist (Donnelly)

Hello! I'm Kate, a university student currently at the University of Calgary. I had a previous pawshakes account, and the reviews are posted in the pictures. I have been dog sitting for about 2 years and I love it! I love animals, taking care of them, going for adventures and soaking up as much cuddle time as I can get. If you book with me you can be sure that your dog will be getting a lot of exercise, tons of playtime, attention and will be in perfectly safe hands. 
My services are only for overnight dog sitting. However once a client becomes regular I am open to other services as well. We will go for long walks, play, and sleep. I have experience training and grooming, and I absolutely love brushing dogs. 
Dogs and other animals fill up a big part of my life, since I am a student I cannot afford having any animals myself, and savour every moment I can get with them. When you book any of my services, here’s what you can generally expect:

  At least one photo update per visit sent through the app
  Adherence to the owner's instructions
  Ongoing communication with the owner regarding any changes with the pet

30-Minute Dog Walking:

  Enjoy walking and spending quality time with your pet (weather permitting)
  Cleaning up after your pet
  Leash and poop bags should be provided by the owners

One-Time Home Visit:

  
    Single visit to the owner's home to feed, refill water, and play with your pet, while following the owner’s specific guidelines
    The pet and its area will be kept clean, including cleaning up any messes
    Taking your pet outside for potty and pee breaks
  

House Sitting:

  I will stay overnight at the owner's home to care for their pet
  I will ensure that both evening and morning routines are followed according to the owner's guidance
  Light housekeeping tasks, such as watering plants, putting out garbage bins on collection day, and cleaning up to maintain the original condition upon my arrival
  The pet and its area will be kept hygienic, including cleaning up any messes
  Taking your pet outside for potty and pee breaks

Hi, nice to meet you!!  My names Autumn, I'm 25 and I've grown up with animals and always lived with joy having them in my life. I've had so many cats and dogs come in my life but still not enough!! I've been loving animals since I can remember. Growing up, I was the go-to around the neighborhood for friends and loved ones who needed their pets looked after, and that's only continued into my adulthood. I have taken care of the furry friends of friends and strangers alike (cats, dogs, fish, salamanders), and my longest live-in sitting job was for a week and a half (for two high-energy schnauzer-doodle mixes).
I am a student at MRU, and the vast majority of my day is open for house visits or walks. I am available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings - essentially just whenever you need someone to pop in. I'm also available for overnight care on nights that I am not working at my library job. My husband takes care of the house and our cats whenever I'm watching pets overnight, so all is taken care of on that front.
I currently have two cats of my own - Seth and Astrid - and they are the lights of my life. I've also owned Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and geckos, so I'm well versed in the care of small animals. I have experience with disabled animals (one of my cats is deaf, so I understand alternative methods of communication with animals), and experience with behavioural issues or difficult personalities (my other cat has extreme anxiety around people, so we have had to adapt our lives in order to help her be comfortable.) I also have experience walking reactive dogs, though I would prefer not to unless I understand their personalities and triggers better.

I'm an animal lover, any shapes sizes and colors, but my main love is for dogs and dog walking to get me and your fur baby out for an enjoyable walk. I should mention that Pepe became diabetic last 5 years of his life which required me to inject him daily with insulin.
