My family and I have always had cats. The cat I grew up with was more of a sibling than a pet, and my current cats are my children. I've had many a cat friend (and occasionally got along with them better than with their humans!), and in social situations, I dedicate as long to my friends' pets as I do to my friends themselves. I've trained my cats to do tricks, walk on a leash, and I brush their teeth daily.

Please make sure to let me know ahead of time if your cats have any preference, special needs, or particular behaviours that I should be aware of; I should be able to accommodate most of these. For instance, I can mix different types of food, adding some water to their food, heating it when it comes out of the fridge, adding supplements/medicine, etc. In some cases, I may also be able to trim claws, clean ears, and the like, if your cat is particularly friendly, too! I have experience administering medicine (pills, liquid medicine injected orally, inhaler, etc.).

I've been looking after my own pets for 19 years, which have included rabbits, cats, hamsters, birds, fish, and a dog.
My area of expertise is rabbit care. I have volunteered with rabbit rescue organizations, and I have spent countless hours researching rabbit care, as their needs and behaviours are quite different from cats and dogs. I have reared multiple rabbits from youth to geriatric age, which has given me the experiences of caring for elderly and disabled rabbits and administering oral and injected medication. Among friends, I am the go-to rabbit parent for advice and rabbit sitting.
I am delighted to offer my services to the pet parents of rabbits and other small animals, in particular, as we are an often overlooked group. Rabbits are affectionate pets with bountiful personality, and I hope they will become more and more popular in the future. I have a huge soft spot and experience with multiple species of pet rodent, as well. They are all unique, no matter how small.
I have also fostered multiple rescue cats who needed to become accustomed to living with humans. In the future, I am planning to have a small dog, but until then, I am happy to take care of yours :) I have had a small amount of experience living with reptiles, and I will continue to expand my knowledge about less common pets. I am comfortable adapting to the particular needs of multi-pet households.
If I had it my way, I would live in a household with all different kinds of pets. I'm a life-long animal lover, and I love seeing all the different ways animals thrive. Pets bring me joy and a sense of peace in ways that nothing else can.

When you book any of my services, here’s what you can generally expect:

  At least one photo update per visit sent through the app
  Adherence to the owner's instructions
  Ongoing communication with the owner regarding any changes with the pet
  Feeding the pet as required
  Access to fresh water


30-Minute Dog Walking:

  Enjoy walking and spending quality time with your pet (weather permitting)
  Cleaning up after your pet
  Leash and poop bags should be provided by the owners

One-Time Home Visit:

  
    Single visit to the owner's home to feed, refill water, and play with your pet, while following the owner’s specific guidelines
    The pet and its area will be kept clean, including cleaning up any messes
    Taking your pet outside for potty and pee breaks
  

House Sitting:

  I will stay overnight at the owner's home to care for their pet
  I will ensure that both evening and morning routines are followed according to the owner's guidance
  Light housekeeping tasks, such as watering plants, putting out garbage bins on collection day, and cleaning up to maintain the original condition upon my arrival
  The pet and its area will be kept hygienic, including cleaning up any messes

I've been loving animals since I can remember. Growing up, I was the go-to around the neighborhood for friends and loved ones who needed their pets looked after, and that's only continued into my adulthood. I have taken care of the furry friends of friends and strangers alike (cats, dogs, fish, salamanders), and my longest live-in sitting job was for a week and a half (for two high-energy schnauzer-doodle mixes).
I am a student at MRU, and the vast majority of my day is open for house visits or walks. I am available in the mornings, afternoons, evenings - essentially just whenever you need someone to pop in. I'm also available for overnight care on nights that I am not working at my library job. My husband takes care of the house and our cats whenever I'm watching pets overnight, so all is taken care of on that front.
I currently have two cats of my own - Seth and Astrid - and they are the lights of my life. I've also owned Guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, and geckos, so I'm well versed in the care of small animals. I have experience with disabled animals (one of my cats is deaf, so I understand alternative methods of communication with animals), and experience with behavioural issues or difficult personalities (my other cat has extreme anxiety around people, so we have had to adapt our lives in order to help her be comfortable.) I also have experience walking reactive dogs, though I would prefer not to unless I understand their personalities and triggers better.

I'm an animal lover, any shapes sizes and colors, but my main love is for dogs and dog walking to get me and your fur baby out for an enjoyable walk. After I lost my Maltese Pepe at age 18 in 2018, I very much enjoyed engaging with my neighbors who entrusted me to take their fur baby out and escort me on my daily walks...or required care if their parents took a trip away or just needed to work late and couldn't get home to their pooch for dinner and a walk. I quickly became the go to person since I was retired and accessible most of the time. I should mention that Pepe became diabetic last 5 years of his life which required me to inject him daily with insulin.
