Are you going away but have a pet that prefers to stay in their own environment? Or perhaps you have a range of different animals and it’s not practical for you to organise for them to stay in different places? Then you might want to consider finding a Pawshake house sitter to come and stay at your Calgary home while you are away.

House sitting is a convenient and affordable option when you have multiple pets and also want your house to be securely looked after while you are away. Many of our pet sitters have very reasonable house sitting rates because they enjoy staying and exploring different local neighbourhoods like Calgary.

At Pawshake, we understand that trusting your home to a stranger can be a little daunting. So we’ve done all the hard work to ensure that your Pawshake house sitter is trustworthy and reliable. All our pet sitter profiles are checked individually by our dedicated trust and safety team and some house sitters also have their own police checks which they can share with you.

The best thing about engaging a Pawshake verified house sitter is that you can relax knowing that on top of being covered by The Pawshake Guarantee which includes veterinary coverage, so your pets are being cared for in a familiar environment and your Calgary home is also being looked after as well.

In addition to looking after your pets, most of our house sitters will happily help you by collecting your mail, taking out the bins, and watering your plants. Just make sure you discuss all your requirements with your chosen house sitter prior to booking.

Hi ! I'm Aileen, a 60ish retired paralegal, former president (18 years!) on my condo board, a responsible, reliable dog walker, house and pet sitter located in Calgary. I'm an animal lover, any shapes sizes and colors, but my main love is for dogs and dog walking to get me and your fur baby out for an enjoyable walk. Dogs just make me smile and give me that warm fuzzy feeling inside as it takes so little to make them happy and that's simply a walk outdoors so they can sniff every blade of grass if they choose to!
After I lost my Maltese Pepe at age 18 in 2018, I very much enjoyed engaging with my neighbors who entrusted me to take their fur baby out and escort me on my daily walks...or required care if their parents took a trip away or just needed to work late and couldn't get home to their pooch for dinner and a walk. I quickly became the go to person since I was retired and accessible most of the time. I should mention that Pepe became diabetic last 5 years of his life which required me to inject him daily with insulin. I've also been known to teach my furry friends a few tricks in a short time...always impresses the fur parent and me!
I'm available for walks and can do over night house sits (for dogs and cats) at your home where I will spend much quality time and care for your pet or pets. I'm passionate about providing my clients with a peace of mind knowing that their home and pets are in safe caring loving hands. Thanks for considering me.

I have over 15 years of professional experience working with and training dogs in the K9 sector. Dogs have been a major part of my professional life, and I understand that every dog has a different personality, energy level, routine, and training needs.
When your dog is in my care, my priority is to provide a safe, comfortable, structured, and positive environment. I treat every dog with the same attention and care I would expect for my own.
Boarding & Day Care
Dogs staying with me receive regular exercise, playtime, rest periods, feeding according to the owner’s instructions, and plenty of individual attention. I keep the number of dogs in my care limited so that I can properly supervise them and give each dog the attention it deserves.
Safety is extremely important to me. Dogs are supervised carefully, and I do not introduce unfamiliar dogs together without first considering their temperament, behaviour, size, and compatibility. Feeding, exercise, and rest can also be managed separately when necessary.
Owners are welcome to discuss their dog’s normal routine with me before the stay, including feeding schedules, allergies, behaviour, special requirements, and anything that helps their dog feel comfortable.
If your dog requires medication, please provide clear written instructions. I am happy to follow the dog’s normal medication routine where I am comfortable and able to do so safely.
I also understand how important it is to know that your dog is doing well while you are away. I can provide regular photo, video, and message updates during your dog’s stay, and you are always welcome to ask how your dog is doing.
Training During Their Stay
Because of my professional K9 training background, I am happy to work on basic obedience and good everyday behaviour while your dog is with me. This can include commands such as sit, down, stay, recall, leash manners, focus, and other appropriate exercises depending on the individual dog.
If you have something specific you would like your dog to practice during their stay, please let me know when booking. Where appropriate, I will be happy to work on it at no additional charge.
Dog Walking
Walks are a minimum of 30 minutes, with the duration and intensity adjusted according to the dog’s age, breed, health, fitness, temperament, and energy level. Active dogs can receive longer exercise when appropriate. My goal is not simply to walk your dog for a set amount of time, but to make sure the exercise is suitable and enjoyable for them.
Pet Sitting
I understand that some dogs are happiest staying in their own familiar environment. I am flexible with pet-sitting arrangements and will do my best to maintain your dog’s normal feeding, walking, exercise, and daily routine according to your instructions.
Before any service, I am happy to discuss your dog’s temperament, routine, training, behaviour, and individual needs. For boarding, you are also welcome to see where your dog will be staying beforehand.
With my professional K9 background, you are leaving your dog with someone who has spent many years understanding canine behaviour, handling, training, and care. Whether your dog is staying for a day, overnight, going for a walk, or simply needs someone dependable while you are away, my goal is for you to feel confident and for your dog to return home safe, comfortable, exercised, and happy.
This should address almost every point the validation system flagged while also making your professional K9 background stand out much more clearly.
One change I especially recommend: don’t promise that every dog will “learn new tricks and commands.” Instead, say you’re happy to work on appropriate training during the stay. That sounds more professional and avoids promising results you can’t guarantee with every dog.

My motivation to be a pet sitter is my passion for animals. I've had dogs, cats, and bunnies my entire life.
I have 25 years experience caring for cats and dogs. Walking numerous friend's dogs, and caring for cats.
I’m a Dog Behavior & Care Expert expert with a focus on making sure your dog is well-cared for, healthy, and as happy as possible since while you’re away since the dog may suffer from separation anxiety.
As a Dog Behavior & Care Expert, I watch for symptoms and behaviour changes.
My lifestyle is active and healthy and I truly enjoy dog walking and caring for all animals.
It would be a pleasure to take care of your home and your pets and plants while you are away. I’m focused on establishing a relationship for repeats visits for when you need my services again and want a reliable and loving dog sitter, caretaker, dog walker.
I will continue the routine your dog is used to. Walk and feed the dog at the same time every day. When you continue the routine your dog is used to having, your dog will experience less stress when you are way. Routine is extremely important for dogs and helps reduce the stress of having the owner gone.
I offer housesitting and dog walking service. I enjoy walking and playing with dogs, so I walk for at least 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on how energetic the dog is and how much exercise it needs. I can water plants if required for housesitting.

Hi there! I'm a lifelong animal lover who grew up in a big pet family with at least nine cats and a dog at any given time. Caring for animals is simply second nature to me, and I've always treated pets like my brothers and sisters. My life feels incomplete without them!
These days, I live with two adorable, friendly cats who I adore. They get along great with other pets and loves having daycare buddies over to play. Because I work from home and have a very flexible schedule, I am here all day to provide constant supervision, companionship, and care.
Here is what I offer:

Daycare and Boarding: Your pet gets all-day attention, cuddles, and interactive playtime in a cozy home environment.
Walks and Drop-in Visits: My walks and visits last 30 to 60 minutes. I handle feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, wiping paws, and lots of affection. I always tailor walk paces to your dog's energy level.

Practical details to know:

Both cats and dogs are warmly welcome!
To keep everyone safe and happy, visiting pets must be friendly, vaccinated, and comfortable around cats.
I strictly follow your daily routines and care instructions so your pet feels right at home.

Hello!
After being gone traveling for housesitting and pet sitting in B.C. and Alberta I am back in Calgary and looking forward to taking care of your pets! See my gallery for some of my 5 star reviews!!
I just moved to a new build so my backyard is not finished which means right now your pups get to go on more walks!
My dog Bailey & I are looking forward to caring for your home &/or pets!
I work from home coaching people to help them live their best life. Pets are usually not left alone longer than a couple of hours in a day.
I have many years of experience with animals. I do animal healing as well.
Your pets and your home will be in good hands!
I have experience in giving meds, senior care, anxiety etc for those that need some extra love and care.
Bailey is a small dog and is a very gentle soul. He does well with many animals.
I am open to long term stays as well :)
A little more about me.... I grew up on a farm and learned to love animals at a very young age. Cats, bunnies, dogs etc. I use to talk to them as a child. If you asked my sister she'd tell you I called the ants my friends! Who knew where the connection with animals would lead me.
in my business I use the guidance our animals are always giving us as a way to help their humans live the life they were truly meant too.
Bailey and I love to go on adventures whether that be a stroll in the lark or taking a ride to the mountains.
i start my mornings with a dog walk (weather permitting .... Eek winter!!). And I often take a walking break mid day or close to supper as a way to end the day.
We do go off leash, but I am also open to taking any dog that needs to be on leash only. I work with the comfort of your pet.
Walks are anywhere from 30 mins-60 mins at a time. At least twice a day. Depending on weather and animal comfort & safety.
Your animals will be safe and protected as if they are one of my very own.
i take pictures and videos often and send them to you while you are away !
i may ask a lot of questions because I want to make sure your pets feel at home with me.
I am open to many dog cuddles as possible!
I am open to a video chat and a meet and greet!
PS I am open to dog sitting outside of Calgary as I'm often in Canmore & Banff area as well as Cochrane & Okotoks

Hi there! My name is Devi, and I'm a huge animal lover. I own and help run an animal shelter in the Northwest Territories, which has given me experience caring for dogs and cats with a wide variety of personalities, needs, and backgrounds. I'm currently staying in Calgary for a few weeks visiting family and, honestly, I'm really missing having some cuddly creatures around!
At home, I have three cats and two dogs (one large and one medium), so I'm very comfortable with animals of all sizes. I have experience with shy, nervous, and reactive dogs, and I understand the importance of patience, positive interactions, and respecting each animal's comfort level. I also almost always have a foster or two lurking around the house with the rest of the crew!
Whether your pet needs a walk, playtime, cuddles, companionship, or just someone reliable to keep them company, I'd be happy to help. I'm comfortable with all breeds and most species. If you're looking for someone who genuinely loves animals and enjoys spending time with them, I'd love to meet your pet and get my animal fix while I'm in Calgary!
