I know how worrying it is to leave your pets behind for even a short period of time. I’ve been there, and have personally felt your nervousness. I won’t be quite the same as you (because no one can fully replace pet parents!), but I pledge to do my best so that your furry family members will get the reliable, honest and heartfelt care that they deserve. With that said... hello! My name is Anita (uhh-knit-tah) and I guess I’m a little bit of a crazy cat lady... with three of my own! I'd like to add that I also had bunnies in my early adult years and grew up around dogs, so I'm fairly comfortable with them all.
Bottom line: I’d love to be the person you can count on to look after your precious pets while you’re away!
Inclusions in my standard visits:
-Approximately 20-30mins visits/walks, and we will discuss mutually-agreeable scheduling, as well as expectations, in advance of the booking via a "meet and greet".
-Services include: feeding, fresh water, petting/cuddles if the pet enjoys them, scooping the litterbox (if applicable), walking the pet and/or playing with the pet (if applicable); additional home-sitting type services if advised by owner (at no charge) can also include bringing in mail and packages, watering plants, weekly garbage/recycling bin take-out and bring-back, as well as other reasonable requests (to be discussed and agreed upon in advance).
-Travel within 5 kms please, or there might be an increased fee (note: holiday rates in effect over statutory holiday periods, please inquire). I travel via an electric scooter or the TTC, but have Uber available for emergencies.
-At least 1x photo or video update per visit.
-Contact with pet owners via calls/text/email (to be discussed in advance) every visit, and detailing any changes with the pet, and if required, bringing the pets to the vet when agreed to by the owner (or in an emergency). Pet owner would be responsible for any travel and vet fees.
-Pets are kept in a hygienic condition - any messes of the pet are cleaned up, and any signs of illness or injury are reported to the owner immediately; if pet can be brushed, it will be done (if they enjoy it, or if it’s necessary for the pet as per owner’s instructions)
My expectations of pet owners:
-Any behavioural issues of the pet are disclosed.
-Any special requirements or instructions are written down for the sitter to prevent any misunderstanding.
-Medication properly labelled, clear dosage instructions and timings (if applicable).
-Emergency contact details (person not travelling with the owner) are provided, including pet insurance details (if applicable).
-If feeding is required, enough pet food is provided.
Full refund if canceled before 12:00 p.m. 7 days before the booking, 50% refund afterward.
No refund is payable if the booking is canceled on or after the start date.

It has been a pleasure connecting with Anita through Pawshake. At our first meeting, it was clear that Anita had a lot of knowledge and experience supporting and caring for animals - she was incredibly attentive in her introductions with my cats and did a thorough assessment of their needs with me to prepare for their care. Anita was very professional throughout the experience - prompt responses to my initial outreach, quick to come and meet my two cats, and connected daily while I was away with updates on their care. My cats are rescue animals and so they have a lot of special needs and cautiousness around others, and Anita was both confident to take on this care work, and managed to build strong relationship/rapport with my cats in a way that a lot of other cat sitters haven’t been able to. I was thoroughly impressed with Anita and the great care they provide - I both hope to keep connecting with Anita in the future for support and would highly recommend connecting with her.
