Hello! I hope everyone is staying safe and hanging in there as we get through this crazy time.
I am currently still providing pet sitting in the pets house during the pandemic. I have a lot of anxiety about covid so I am very cautious about things and health and safety is my top priority for all. I stay home almost 24/7 except to get groceries/supplies once a week and one daily walk outside.
I normally do a big clean before the end of the stay to make sure you are coming home to a fresh and clean home, and now during covid I add extra sanitation of surfaces.
*STARTING MARCH 2021 I will be able to provide pet sitting in my own home. I am moving to MillWoods into a 2bd ground floor condo. Pictures will be availble once I am moved. There is no fenced yard but there is lots of green space close by and nice walking paths. *
I have spent 10 years working with animals from dog daycares in BC, Alberta, and Saskatchewan, as well as being a vet assistant at vet clinics in BC and Alberta. After having too many horrible experiences working for people who can’t respect their employees and the animals I started my own business providing in home pet care. I have the most experience working with dogs, especially fearful, timid, and anxious dogs, as well as dogs that are not dog friendly, and I have loved getting to take care of cats and have become and huge cat lover over the last few years. I have also looked after a snake, turtles, lizards, and rodents. I love all animals and am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
If your pet is diabetic or on any medication, I am trained and able to administer any medication needed. I have post-surgical care experience, basic grooming skills, nail clipping, wrinkle and ear cleaning, among many other skills. I use positive training techniques with all the animals I work with and carry a pet first aid kit on all walks, as well as water and a water bowl. Animals are very reactive to energy, so I consciously work to stay calm and am mindful of the animal’s energy to better help the pets needs.
I have a second business making paracord collars and leashes, and during the summer I am at the st.albert farmers market every Saturday from around 7am-4pm. Otherwise I have a very flexible schedule and can accommodate pets that need a lot of care.
After spending two years living in a self-converted camper van I am now living in a small studio across from NAIT. I love alternative living options and hope to have my own tiny house on some land one day and foster dogs.
Brenda stayed in at our home for 5 days with our 3 pets. All were wonderfully cared for and the house was so clean when we returned. Brenda sent photos and updates to us while away and was very prompt in returning messages. I would highly recommend Brenda
Brenda was phenomenal with our cat. We were so nervous to leave our senior cat, as he had recently lost a lot of weight and had a massive dental surgery. However, the meet and greet put our minds at ease. We were delighted to find that our lovely cat had gained weight while we were away, AND it was clear that he had gotten lots of cuddles and playtime while we were away. I would highly recommend Brenda to anxious pet owners!
