My name is Amanda (Mandy) Bunten-Walberg, and I would be honoured to help care for your beloved animal companions! Whether your energetic puppy needs daily walks, your grumpy senior needs an occasional stroll around the block, or your attention-loving cat needs to be lavished with affection during home-visits, I am eager to offer your fur-family top-notch care! 

ABOUT ME:

I am currently taking a hiatus from my PhD in Multi-Species Ethics, and I am looking for hands-on work that restores my soul! I adore my two animal companions (my rescued cat and dog, Murphy and Khepri, respectively), and I know how difficult it can be to entrust another person with the care of one's fur-family. I strongly believe that all animals deserve to be treated with dignity and respect, and I am passionate about caring for all animals as though they are my own, using only positive reinforncement training methods.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:

From 2018 - 2019 (1.5 years), I worked as a professional dog walker and cat sitter in Yorkville for Barks n Purrs. It is here that I honed my skills and gained an intimate understanding of the unique needs and personalities of each dog and cat who I cared for. My reputation as a reliable, attentive, and compassionate caregiver grew, as I ensured transparent and open lines of communication with every client, and that every pet was treated with dignity, patience, and care. 

My daily routine included dog walks that were tailored to each dog's unique needs and energy levels, providing social interaction, love, exercise, and stimulation. My cat-sitting duties included feeding, grooming, playing with, and petting the cats who I humbly served!

I have the experience and passion to create nurturing and secure environments where animals can thrive, and to grant my human clients reassurance and peace of mind. In addition, I hold certification in pet first aid and CPR.
