Welcome to The Meowington Home: Your Feline's Dream Getaway!
Hello there! We're Pamela and Holly, a mother-daughter duo who proudly manage The Meowington Home, a cozy haven for vacationing cats and small animals. Nestled in two convenient locations, we present to you "The Original Meowington Home" on Decarie (managed by Pamela) and "The Meowington Annex" (managed by Holly) on Cote-Des-Neiges. With a shared passion for all things feline, we've been devotedly tending to our whiskered guests since January 1, 2022.
Our journey began as a way to honour the memory of Sir Ralph Meowington (the ginger polydactyl in our photos), Holly's cherished companion who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in December of 2021. At the time we were living together on Decarie, and the idea of providing a loving space for cats and small animals, just as we did for Ralph, gave birth to our venture here.
As of September 10, 2022, Holly moved out with her partner Pae, opening up our second location "The Meowington Annex". Between our two homes we are able to provide care to our regulars and some new guests as well!
Pamela is a writer and artist working from home and living a fairly solitary lifestyle. She occasionally has a few friends over, all of whom are pet-lovers. Whether she is working at her desk or curled up reading in a chair, there is always room on her lap for a visiting kitty. When it's time to play, they will do that, too! Pamela is double vaxxed and triple boosted at this time.
Holly is also a writer and artist working from home and living a fairly solitary lifestyle. Her partner is a writer as well, and between the two of them there is always someone at home to provide cuddles and playtime for visiting kitties. While they are the younger components of the Meowington Home at ages 34 and 35, they rarely have social gatherings, and similar to Pamela, these always consist of quiet and friendly feline-loving friends. Holly and Pae are both double vaxxed.

THE ORIGINAL MEOWINGTON HOME
Located near Monkland on the edge of Westmount, The Original Meowington Home is a tranquil and spacious 5 1/2 apartment. Clean and quiet, it's a haven for cats to explore, play, and relax. Comfy beds, hiding spots, and window sills await, while the spacious entryway/dining room/living room is a paradise for energetic "zoomies."
While there's a small balcony, rest assured that the safety of your cat is a priority. If your feline friend enjoys outdoor moments, Pamela will make it happen securely. Please provide a harness if you would like your kitty to get a little fresh air outdoors. They can be taken for a short sunbath on the balcony, but will never be left alone there. Back inside, there are no harmful plants for your furry friend to gnaw on.
If you have small caged mammals, there's ample space, including two separate closed rooms for safety. Concerned about cohabiting with cats? Just notify Pamela so she does not double book. The focus is always on your pet's comfort at The Original Meowington Home.
THE MEOWINGTON ANNEX
Nestled at the mountain's base, The Meowington Annex is also a 5 1/2 apartment. Character radiates from its wide-silled windows that invite gazing at the outdoors. The open hall and central area offer a dynamic play zone, while a private room caters to shy felines needing adjustment time.
Just like its counterpart, safe outdoor time is granted via the balcony by request. Otherwise, both Pamela and Holly are extremely careful with outdoor access around kitties; paranoid about every open door.
For those with caged animals, ample space accommodates them, with options to separate from cats. Rest assured, double bookings won't include cats if specified. Holly ensures a cozy haven for your pets, embodying the care of The Meowington Home legacy.

OUR EXPRIENCE
Pamela has had pets in her home her entire life, and passed this on to Holly. Neither of us have been without one or more cats (aside from since we started our Meowington venture. We have given up pet ownership in favour of creating this vacation home) - and, added to that, have had budgies, rats, hamsters, gerbils, a small dog, and one fabulous hedgehog.
We have both had cats with kidney disease, and are well-versed in giving oral medication as well as subcutaneous fluids.
We are also both cat whisperers when it comes to claw clipping! If your cat is not a fan and they need their claws clipped, just let us know and we will get it done with minimal complaint. :)

WHAT WE PROVIDE (Boarding)
The Original Meowington Home as well as The Annex provide 24/7 care. We are each almost always at home, except for the occasional need to run errands or get some outdoor exercise.
There is plenty of room for multiple cats from the *same* household. As a rule we do not board multiple households of cats at the same time. That being said, it is at times requested by regular clients so they do not have to book with a new Pawshaker. In these instances, all parties involved will be contacted to ensure consent prior to scheduling anything.
For caged pets, we can take multiple households unless there is a request made not to.
Potential boarding situations include:
-1 cat(s) household
-1 cat(s) household + 1 caged pet household (separated from the cat(s)
-2-3 caged pet households
*In requested multi-household situations, both households of cats will have their own territory and will not come into contact with one another.
The Meowington Homes also provide many sleeping options. Cat houses, beds, couches, comfy chairs, secret closet hide-aways, the recent addition of a window hammock at the Original home, and of course in the human bed as well!
We provide a littler box as well as food dishes, but you must bring your own litter and food. We also ask that you provide feeding notes via Pawshake message so we can keep your kitty on your preferred feeding schedule.
We are also both very close to a 9-5 as well as emergency vet in case any problems arise.
Last but not least, we provide a minimum of one photo update per day. If you would like more, just let us know. We understand how important it is to feel assured that your pet is doing well, so if you want us to bombard you with photos and stories, we will do exactly that. :)

WHAT PAMELA PROVIDES (Home Visits)
On a limited basis, I can make home visits within a catchment area of a 25-minute walk from my home. I do not have a vehicle, and sometimes cannot offer this service for seasonal reasons. But if we do set this up, I will spend 30 minutes in your home for feeding, cleaning the litter box, and playing with your kitty. Then you will receive a daily report card from me through the Pawshake website, including photos.

Love, dedication, and flexibility are three things we see as key to animal care, and we know how to follow through on each one. Having provided care for three kidney cats as well as other cats with behavioural issues (anger in one, extreme shyness in the other), we are very good at adapting to exactly what your pet requires when it comes to care.
We can't wait to meet your amazing companion animal(s) !

I will always recommend Pamela and Holly to take care of my two cats. They’re brothers, they’re 11 y.o. so they’re set in their ways but to my surprise, they always seem so calm and happy even if they’re not home. And I’m sure it’s because Pamela and Holly treat them as their own. Thank you again, until next time :)
Pamela is really amazing, she clearly loves animals and for us was our cat whisperer. Nothing short of amazing.
