Lizzy

Hi! 

We are Lizzy and Harvey! We recently moved to Vancouver from Australia and are really missing our family dog. Because we don't have the means to get a dog of our own, we are hoping you would share the love for your dog with us! We both have had dogs all our lives and know our way around them. 

About us: Lizzy is 29 years old, born in the Netherlands and has a job as a scientist in a cancer research lab. Harvey is 27 years old, born and raised an Aussie, and works as an environmental consultant who is currently unemployed. We recently got engaged!

Lizzy works 9-5 Monday to Friday in a laboratory. Harvey is currently unemployed and can spend as much time at home as necessary. We love dogs, and will look to take them everywhere we go. The only exception would be for ~20-minute grocery runs. 

We live in a spacious 1 bedroom apartment in Mt Pleasant by ourselves (no other pets). It has a large bedroom and living room, and a bathroom with a bath. There is no backyard but there are lots of nearby parks. We do have a well-fenced spacious balcony. Depending on the size of the dog we may or may not permit access to the balcony during stays to ensure the safety of the pet. 

We would be able to host one dog at a time for larger breeds and up to two for smaller breeds (e.g. < 10 kgs each). We are flexible with availability, with both shorter and longer stays welcome. We are very available at the moment. We are comfortable having guest dogs sleep in either our living room or our bedroom, depending on owner and dog preferences. On the weekends we would look to take dogs anywhere we go, for walks and adventures. During the week, my partner is available to be with dogs at all times (with 20 min grocery runs being the only exception). And we would both be available to spend time with the dogs in the early mornings and evenings.

We will provide up to three walks a day, depending on the breed and fitness requirements. Walk durations will be up to 40 minutes each, again dependent on the breed and owner preferences. Dogs can also be taken outside to do their business more frequently if required (e.g. for younger and older dogs). During the day, dogs will be accompanied at all times by Harvey. 

We are able to bathe and brush dogs in our bath (brush and dog shampoo/conditioner would need to be supplied). We are also able to administer oral medications if necessary.
