I'm a pet sitter with extensive experience caring for cats, dogs, fish, and even horses! I've been caring for my Deaf/Blind stray cat Pepper for the last 18 years, I have several years of experience pet-sitting for friends' cats and dogs, as well as years of experience as a professional horse groomer.
I'm observant, reliable, and communicative. I understand the stress of being away from your pet, wondering if they're in good hands, and I understand the stress that the animal experiences when their owner isn't with them. My services include lots of playing & petting time with the animal, and I am happy to send you pet pictures/updates while you are away.
Highlights Of Experience:
Cats: feeding dry & wet food, replenishing water (bowl or fountain), cleaning litter, brushing, playing, petting, giving medication in the form of eye drops/ointment/pills. Fun fact: I've taken a mini course on giving cats massages!Dogs: walking on leash, brushing, feeding dry & wet food, replenishing water, giving medication in the form of pills, playing, petting.Specialize in elderly cats/dogs: experience caring for cats & dogs that are Deaf, Blind/Low Vision, have arthritis, and/or dementia. Example of what this care looks like: letting the animal sniff me before approaching, approaching the animal slowly and never from behind, leaving the light on while they eat (for Low Vision animals), offering extra gentle pets (for animals with arthritis), helping them up if they are trying to jump onto their bed, giving medication if necessary. As I have an elderly pet myself, I understand that these micro adjustments in care make all the difference to the comfort of an elderly pet.Professional horse groomer for 5+ years: My years of experience as a horse groomer has taught me how to handle big animals, which has come in handy when taking care of big dogs. What does a horse groomer do exactly, you may ask? I brush horses, feed them grains/hay & bring them buckets of water, walk them, wash them, braid their mane, train them, oil and clean their hooves, and tack them up (put their saddle & bridle on) & untack. What You Can Expect From My Services:
I offer dog walks as a sole service. I also offer house-visits, for which I will come to your home 1-2 times per day and offer your pet the care they require (see below under 'cats' or 'dogs' more specifics about this care).Cats: 20 minutes of play-time and petting per visit, in addition to basic tasks (feeding, water replenishing, litter cleaning, and medication-giving if required). If your cat has any specific needs, we can collaborate on the best plan for them and I can adjust my services to meet those needs.Dogs: walks as long as 30 minutes per visit (dependant on the dogs' needs, of course). Additional 10 mins of petting & play time. Feeding, water replenishing, and medication giving (if required). If your dog has any specific needs, we can collaborate on the best plan for them and I can adjust my services to meet their needs. House Sitting/Overnight Stays: staying in your house overnight so that your pet has extended support at night and during the daytime. I do a mixture of work-from-home and out-of-house work, so please reach out to let me know what your exact needs are here and we can collaborate on a plan together.Plants & Garbage Take-Out: if you require a couple of plants watered while you are away, or garbage taken to the crub, I am happy to do that. Ongoing communication: I love receiving pictures of my pet when I'm away, so if this is supportive to you, I would be happy to do this. Additionally, if your animal has medical needs and you would like updates about their health, I am happy to offer updates.I can't wait to meet your pet and offer them as much love as I do my own pet!
