Hi, I'm Kevina!
I've worked with animals in the Animal Welfare and Veterinary industry for the last 10 years and am here to provide lots of love and attention to your furbabies when you can't be around for them.
I have three cats (don't tell my landlord!) and one dog - they all have special needs, be it health or behavioural, and I am well known for being a very devoted mum to them as well as being very intuitive and caring to other people's pets.
I love to have fun and play with energetic dogs, or give a soothing massage to older or timid dogs.
My own little dog has taught me about the big personalities you can expect from pocket rockets, but having had large dogs (Bernese Mountain Dogs) I totally get that big dogs are equally lap dogs most of the time!
How can I say whether I'm a 'big dog' or a 'little dog' person - I love them all and would have one of every breed if I could!
I'm completely torn when someone asks me if I'm a dog or a cat person, but I have to admit I am a crazy cat lady and I have a knack for speaking 'cat'.
Having worked in a Vet Clinic for 10 years, I was always the one called on to help with scared or even 'aggressive' cats (I don't like to refer to them as aggressive... I have a cat who has been labelled as that, but really, he just expresses himself in a different way, and I respect that).
I also have an extremely timid girl, (friends I've known for years have never even seen her), so I understand both the fight and the flight tendencies, and the need to be patient and calm :)
My third cat is a total mummy's boy... playful, confident and affectionate, but only with me.
How can you not love their various personalities and unique behaviours?!
As for my dog, she thinks she is a cat, and is well socialised with all animals, having grown up with many fosters.
She also has special medical needs so I am not deterred by animals who need medications, special diets, physical therapy and modifications to give them quality of life.
I have provided care for puppies, kittens, rats, guinea pigs, rabbits
and birds, and am able to cater to all needs and all ages including newborns, adolescents & adults, the elderly and those with health or behavioural requirements.
I can provide first aid, I have readily available contacts in the vet industry if the need arises, I use low stress handling techniques and I can administer all types of medications (oral, injection, transdermal etc.) and special dietary requirements.
I can even provide post surgical, including post orthopaedic care and rehab.
I will always follow your wishes for your pet and their needs, and will always seek to find what makes your pet feel the most happy and comfortable with me
If there are any special requirements your pets may have - be it health, diet, behavioural, or even their favourite toys or scratchy spot, please don't hesitate to let me know.
I promise, there isn't much I can't or won't do to make their lives better.
I look forward to becoming your pets new best friend!
