We are a friendly, reliable, non-smoking couple. Originally from the UK, we arrived in Sept 2017 and love housesitting and the opportunity it presents to see new areas in Victoria and broader Vancouver Island. We have been housesitting since we arrived and had the honour of looking after so many beautiful pets! We honestly weren't sure how long we'd continue housesitting for, but it has worked so brilliantly that we've just kept doing it! Having been invited back for several housesits, we found it a wonderful way to have the home comforts of pets - we feel so lucky to have adored all the animals we look after, getting to know each of their unique personalities and being so warmly welcomed into their homes.

We are both avid animal lovers. Sam grew up in what her friends used to refer to as a 'zoo', with an assortment of pets - including dogs (2 German Shepherds), a horse, guinea pigs and rabbits, hamsters, tortoises, budgies, fish and even a bearded dragon. Jack played it safe with two cats, but we've both lived with cats and dogs since and thoroughly enjoy getting to know new, furry friends wherever we go. We are respectful, tidy and compassionate people and will take care of any home we have the privilege of staying in.

We have looked after rabbits, guinea pigs, horses, fish, chickens, cats and dogs (French Bulldog, Irish Setter, Italian Mastiff/American Bulldog, Shiloh Shepherd, Border Collie, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Golden Retriever, Great Pyrenees, Bernese, Husky/Malamute, Whippet, Mixed Breeds & more!) and even a goat! We've administered insulin for a diabetic cat, taken a poorly pup (1-year old) to the vets after he was unexpectedly ill and looked after older, quieter animals as well as bouncy, energetic ones! We specialise in longer-term stays, getting to know pets really well and even coming back for repeat sits. We'd be happy to discuss the potential of a long-term stay with your pets at a very reasonable rate.

The best thing is getting to know each animal's unique personality - we always wonder how much we'll grow to love a pet we're looking after short-term, and it's so lovely how we always DO! We are thankful to have received such positive reviews for our house-sitting - and made some lovely friends along the way. We keep the house clean throughout our stays and ensure we give each home a thorough clean just before the owners return.
