Hi there!

I'm Maria and I am originally from Paraguay, South America. I've had pets all of my life (dogs, cats, deer, mice, birds, foxes, you name it) up until moving to Canada.

Since I don’t have any pets of my own, due to my current living situation (landlords have allergies), but love being around animals, I signed up for Pawshake.

I’m 31 and have a full-time job working in hospitality and tech in the Harbourfront area of the city. While I'm currently not able to host any pets in my own home, I would love the opportunity to be a dog walker or to do in-home visits for someone's pet while they are away, ensuring the pet is comfortable in its familiar surroundings.

I live in the Greektown area, not terribly far from Riverdale Park East (one of my favourite spots).

I have volunteered at a couple of shelters and humane societies in the past and, while I don't currently volunteer here in Toronto, I do have some experience with rescued animals (mainly dogs and cats).

My times for walks and home visits are pretty flexible on the evenings and weekends.

Daytime during the week is a bit trickier but if the location is close to my office (King West) and I’m available, I’m happy to step out for a walk or home visit.

My work schedule becomes the busiest in July through September so I would have reduced availability during the week and on some weekends until mid September.
