ABOUT ME: Hi there! I'm an animal lover offering care for your pets in your home or mine. After taking a break from Pawshake during this past *crazy* year - I’m back and am ready to meet some new furry pals!

I have experience caring for dogs, cats, rabbits and hamsters. I am especially experienced with rabbits as I have owned a few over the years, and have volunteered with the Toronto Humane Society in the Special Species department. I also have some experience with syringe feeding, administering eye drops and subcutaneous injections like insulin. Your pet will be showered with attention as I currently do not own any pets and really love spending time with animals when I can! My friends' and family's pets all know that when "Auntie Claire" comes to visit they are in for all the cuddles and love.

MY AVAILABILITY: I currently (per COVID times) work from home fulltime for a media agency, so as long as you have a good internet connection and a place to set up my laptop and screen, I would be around all day with your pet while housesitting. I love having some cute company while I work from my own home as well. Weekend and holiday availability is pretty flexible, just try to reach out well in advance if possible for holiday bookings.

MY LOCATION / HOME: I now live near Christie & Bloor and am able to serve clients within a reasonable distance from this neighbourhood. I do not drive so just need to be able to get there easily by walking or transit, or have you drop your pet off to me.

For daycare/boarding - I live alone in a 1-bedroom apartment that is the main floor of a townhouse, with a small backyard. The yard is fenced, however the gate is not fully secured and downstairs neighbours come and go through this entrance, so I would only let dogs out in the yard with my full supervision / leashed for safety. Christie Pits is 2 minutes away and a great location for walks. When staying with me, I can provide (at least) a 30 min walk in the morning and evening, with pee breaks as needed midday and before bed. As I am working my day job on weekdays and often have multiple video meetings, the ideal doggy client would be a generally calm, quiet companion by my side during these hours. A rambunctious young puppy who needs lots of play and frequent potty breaks, while adorable, may not be the best fit - at least not during the work week! However, on weekends/holidays I am much more capable of catering to a needier pup :)
