I ensure your loved ones are cared for in a professional and conscientious manner, tailored to your expectations. My priority is your best friend’s safety, health, and happiness.
I have over 10 years experience with primarily household animals which includes but not limited to caring for the family dog (walking, playing, training, feeding) to cat care and kitten nursing. I have 3 cats (one senior) that were all adopted in Panama and brought over to Canada, all from different situations and with ranging histories. A couple of my other experiences include volunteering at a spay and neuter clinic in Panama which included registering and weighing cats and dogs pre-surgery, nursing an abandoned kitten prior to adoption, and caring for the animals at a hostel for several months which included a large dog (mixed breed), a mom and her three newly born kittens, two adult cats, and chickens.
My educational background is in environmental studies, dealing with ecology, wildlife conservation, and human-animal relations. I like to apply this background in my approach to animals and animal behaviour, with an aim to account for your friend’s perspective and ensure your pets are fully comfortable and content.
I understand the stress that pet owners can feel when leaving on vacation or even going to work for the day and having to leave their loved ones behind. Animal welfare and owner comfortability are of greatest importance to me and this is taken into account to ensure both pet owners and their best friends feel secure and have a pleasant experience.

My 2 rescue cats loved Jana. She gave me daily updates of their well-being while I was away and I came home to happy, calm cats.
Education in Environmental Studies (Bachelors and Masters degree). Part of my masters degree focused on human-animal relations (including perspectives and theories, human-wildlife conflict, trafficking, tourism impacts), and overall wildlife conservation. This background informs my perspective of other species and has pushed me to advocate for animals from a less human-centred, intrinsic value approach. Other direct skills involve handling and weighing dogs and cats for a spay/neuter clinic, kitten care, and basic dog and cat care. I have a fully clean record, with no prior arrests nor convinctions.
