Thank you for visiting my profile! I am happy to provide 45-minute on-leash dog walks or in-home puppy visits for the rate of $19/walk or visit. As a pet owner myself, I understand how nerve-wracking it can be to trust your loved fur-baby with a stranger, and I take this responsibility seriously. To help ease your worries, I provide a 20-30 minute no-cost meet and greet, where you and your dog can get to know me before you leave your pet in my care.

Walks:

I provide your dog with a fun and tiring walk through making each walk unique. Depending on the walk, we may change routes to provide new scents, do some basic training (sit, heel, stay, speak, quiet, etc.), pick up the pace and run for a bit, or have a social walk with my dog, Sassafraz. Each walk is personalized for your dog's needs and abilities. I provide treats, water, poop and scoop with biodegradable bags, and towel-drying of paws and body if wet before entering the home. Unless you have multiple dogs in your home, the only dog that would join us on our walks is my own, in order to give your dog the opportunity to socialize with another dog, while still receiving personalized care. Should you like a social walk for your dog, I would bring Sassafraz to the initial meet and greet to determine they are a good match. Additionally, proof of vaccinations will be required (and I will also show you proof of her vaccinations). All dogs must have proof of up to date rabies vaccination, regardless of whether they will go for social walks with Sassafraz, with the exception of puppies. Due to her fun-loving temperament, social walks with Sassafraz gives your dog the opportunity to learn how to interact with another dog, especially if you have a young or timid dog.

Puppy Visits:

During a 45-minute in-home visit, I take your puppy outside to use the washroom, play with some toys, practice basic commands (sit, stay, down, speak, quiet), top up their water, give food (if needed), and clean up any accidents (if needed). I also send you a photo or text updating you on how they are doing that day.

It is my goal that after spending time with me, your dog will come home happy, tired (physically and mentally), and feeling loved.

Hours:

9am-3pm, Monday-Friday. Weekend times available at special request.

Location:

I operate solely in the Nepean, Bells Corners, and Bayshore area. All dog walks take place in your neighbourhood; I do not drive your dog to other locations.

About Me:

I am an active outdoors person who loves to be out in all weather, even the cold snowy days here in Ottawa! I am passionate about training animals, and have my dog and cat trained to come, sit, shake-a-paw, spin, speak, and stay. During the summer, Sassafraz and I spend many evenings on the agility course. Beyond my own pets, I have gained experience caring for other's pets through volunteering as an animal-foster through the Ottawa Humane Society, in-home pet sitting, and through leasing a horse for a year where I was responsible for the horse's care.
