I was born and raised with Many Dogs (Born in Sabah, Borneo Island, East Malaysia). I came to Canada for my post-secondary studies (graduated with two graduate degrees from Canadian Universities) and married with two sons. We adopted two dogs more than 14 years ago so that the kids get to socialize with dogs (many benefits of having pets). 

One dog has passed away. Only the big dog is still with us (3 years old, she is a German Shepherd and Poodle mixed, female, not spayed). Based on my experience, it is not easy to find dog sitters for big/giant dogs. Most sitters prefer small or medium dogs/cars (small breed is more popular). If you have big/giant dogs, I am sure you understand what I meant (not easy to find sitters and more expensive). That’s why I offer my help to care for big/giant dogs. Why do I offer $30-35 per day/night? I am helping families who are not able to find care for their big/giant dogs (part-time only). Nevertheless, small dogs are welcome 🤗

Book Early for a private home or personalized care.

Dog Boarding: one dog at a time unless they are from the same family (Exception: holiday season or Summer Time, 2 dogs at a time). More personalized care.

Dog Day Care: two dogs at a time.

Where to sleep: Your pets/dogs will sleep/rest in the living room or the cage (options: open door or close door). See the pictures enclosed.  Our House rules: No pets on the bed or sofa/couch.

Where to play: a) I have a big fenced backyard with lots of shade or trees; b) Walk in Gatineau Park (minimum walk is 30 minutes, max is 3 hours); c) Dog Park (if you prefer).

Note that I limit my walking with dogs during the snowy and winter months (no walk to 30 minutes of walk). Only play in my big fenced backyard (which means no walk when it’s very cold, slippery and snowy as most dogs pull the leash).

Requirements: Potty Trained & House-trained, Vaccine Updates especially Rabies Vaccine & tick control, etc (if any, if no, just let me know your approach). 

Would it be possible to answer the following questions?

1) Any allergies or food allergies? 2)Will your dogs pull the leash during a walk but are easily controlled after command? 3) Do you give human food to your dogs? If yes, what kind? 4) Do you use a collar or harness during a walk? 5) Does your dog keep looking behind (not the owner) during a walk? 6) How often do you walk your dogs (every day for how long)? 7) Do they sleep in your bedroom or in a living room or in a special bedroom? 8) Is your dog trained to sleep in a Crate during puppy time? 8) Do I need to put on a layer of balm to your dog’s paws after a walk or play outdoors? (Note this is an extra charge) 9) Do I need to clean your dog’s teeth (extra charge)?

For overnights (dog boarding) - clean/shower/bath before boarding. Is your pet trained to sleep in the living room or a crate (when younger)? Must provide Emergency Contact for Dog Boarding. Must meet first to see the fit (Pawshake Policy).

Bring your dogs’ food, treats, food tray, water bowl, toys, bed, blanket, towel (to clean dirt or rain), hair comb, collar, leash, poop bags, daily habits/routine, weird behaviour to pay attention to. 

I will provide daily updates - 2x per day at the minimum.

**Special note: Before contacting me, Gentle reminder to read - The sitter profile - Services - Pet Preferences. I value punctuality. Late pickup will be charged $2/hour (by the hour). Dog boarding is based on 24-hour care (For example: if the check-in time is at 7:30 AM, the check-out time would be the same or before that. If takes more than 24 hours, it will be charged $2/hour).

Check-in & checkout time: between 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Formal Dog Training Experience: I trained my dogs at Petsmart and K9 Training Institute. I am still a member of the K9 Training Institute.

If overnights: will require emergency contact numbers of your family members/friends/vet clinic in case of emergency. Vet contact and address will also required.

I have my vehicle. I will send you daily updates about your dogs (with pictures) because I understand you care about your dogs.
