As an animal lover, I completely understand that you want to entrust your pets to someone who is reliable and will take care of your pets just like they would their own. Because I love animals so much, I have centered my time and career around them. I am a Certified Animal Massage Therapist with my own company called Mind Body Tail Animal Massage. I also work as a Veterinary Assistant at a Clinic in Langley where I offer my massage and reiki services. It’s a bit of a commute from North Vancouver where I live, but I love working with animals and helping them feel better! I work at the clinic in Langley 4 days a week starting at 10am on Tuesday to Friday and some Saturdays. I have a flexible schedule otherwise.
I also have my Walks and Wags Pet First Aid and CPR training. I am also certified in Animal Acupressure and Usui Animal Reiki. I have my own pets; my 3 “foster-fail” cats, Karma (4 yrs), Batman & his sister Mochi who are (1 year old), my Pug, Lola (15 yrs) and a Siamse Fighting fish named Mr Peppercorn.
I feed my cats raw food, and am comfortable handling it. My dog is now transitioned to home cooked from raw.
We are experienced with fussy kitties as well, as my hubby and I also foster cats and kittens through Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA). I am also a North Shore volunteer cat & kitten vaccinator for VOKRA.
At 38 years of age, I have a lot of experience with pets as I have been surrounded by pets all of my life and grew up having my own dogs, cats, hamsters, a rabbit, a budgie, finches, turtles, lots of fish, even a scorpion and some reptiles (Anoles and Leopard Gecko)! When I was in my 20’s, I worked in a pet store for 5 years and have taken care of many pets-to-be. I also had a horse sanctuary next door where I grew up and I took care of my own leased horse from there and I did Trail Guiding at a local Trail Riding Stable.
What you can expect with my services:
Daily Home visits will be about 30 minutes once or twice a day and includes feeding, administering medication or suppliments, cleaning litter boxes or pee mats, and playing/hanging out with your pet. I will send photos of your pet by text or email, just let me know your preference!
If you're away longer than just for the day, I am also happy to pick up your mail, newspaper, water your house plants, turn on/off lights so it looks like someone is home.
Please note that my booking availability is limited so that I can ensure I have enough time for your pets and mine! However, please reach out with any inquiries and I can see what we can work out! Feel free to let me know if you have questions about animal massage, acupressure or reiki as well!
As part of my pet sitting, I am happy to arrange a free meet and greet, I look forward to meeting you and your pets!
Susan was a great cat sitter for our two cats. She was super flexible on timing to come and visit the cats depending on our schedule and send lovely updates and photos to us while we were away which really set our minds at ease. Will be booking her again.
Susan does a great and careful job taking care of my very elderly cat! He is always happy to see her and it's a relief to know he is well taken care of when I'm gone. Highly recommended.
