I strive to provide the most trusted, caring, and professional cat sitting services on the North Shore where I reside with my husband and our three beloved "fur babies": Smokey, Bandit and Shadow. To date, I have 3 years experience as a professional cat sitter and 9 years experience caring for cats other than my own through volunteering with Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue Association (VOKRA). Rates and details for in-home cat sitting

• $28 / one 30 minute visit per day
• $48 / two 30 minute visits per day
• initial, in-home meet and greet is free of charge
• morning visits: 730 am-930 am
• dinner visits: 300pm-730 pm
• all visits include: feeding, administration of medication, your cats favorite activity (e.g. playing, brushing, snuggling etc...), daily photos and updates sent to you via email or text, use of complimentary automatic feeder for cats who need one visit per day but require more than one meal in a 24hr period), watering of indoor plants, bringing in mail/newspapers
• to guarantee the safety of cats in my care they must remain indoors while they are under my care
• please note, visits on Christmas Eve and Christmas are 15 minutes

My relationship with cats started from a young age as my mother's fondness for cats was contagious. Throughout my childhood we always had three cats as part of our family which lay the groundwork for my adoration for these magnificent creatures.

Like many paths in life, my path to cat sitting was somewhat of a serendipitous one. Upon embarking on my professional career in healthcare, in 2007, I started volunteering at Vancouver Orphan Kitten Rescue (VOKRA) to achieve some much needed life/work balance. Initially, I volunteered at VOKRA's feral cat shelter which I eventually ended up managing in addition to providing hands on care for recently rescued cats and helping with fundraising.

In 2015, I had to revaluate my employment as, although I enjoyed my work in healthcare, it was not providing me the life satisfaction that I wanted. As I always had a strong affinity for animals in general, and cats in particular, I started researching employment in the cat care realm. I stumbled across a Vancouver cat sitting company that was looking to expand to North Vancouver. I was brought on board as their sole cat sitter on the North Shore working with

almost 60 human clients and almost 80 cats. In August 2018, the company decided to change their business model from in-home cat sitting to cat boarding, thus providing me the opportunity to start my own in-home cat sitting business.

sitter who had let me down badly on two separate occasions - the last time leading to my poor kitties being left alone without food of fresh water for more than 24 hours (and that doesn’t cover the damage she frequently did to my home, chopping walls and breaking doors and light fittings!). So you can imagine I was very nervous and reticent when it came to finding someone else to care for them. However, my job required me to travel monthly so I did need to find someone who could consistently take great care of my fur babies, for extended periods of time each month, and often accommodate a changing schedule. Mairi was and still is that person. My kitties adore her and she has taken tremendous care of them over the last two years, on extended trips I often got videos posted of their antics in addition to the standard pictures. She was ultra accommodating when my baby arrived and my travel schedule changed dramatically as a result. I just can’t imagine having anyone else care for my fur kids and also ensure my home is safe and without damage while I am away.
