About Pamela
*Important Announcement:
The Meowington Home is moving! As of August 23rd, we will be relocating to Hochelaga near Viau metro. We will continue to care for cats in a very large double room, fully equipped with the comforts your feline companions are used to. However, we won’t be able to host overlapping bookings since two live-in cats will be joining us with our roommate. Existing clients are encouraged to book early and please check our availability calendar before booking. We truly love all our clients and wish we had a mansion big enough to care for every one of you!
Welcome to The Meowington Home: Your Feline's Dream Getaway!
Hello there! We're Pamela and Holly, a mother-daughter duo who proudly manage The Meowington Home, a cozy haven for vacationing cats and small animals. With a shared passion for all things feline, we've been devotedly tending to our whiskered guests since January 1, 2022.
Our journey began as a way to honour the memory of Sir Ralph Meowington (the ginger polydactyl in our photos), Holly’s cherished companion who crossed the Rainbow Bridge in December 2021. Through The Meowington Home we've created a loving space for cats and small animals, just as we did for Ralph, which gave birth to The Meowington Home.
To tell you more about us, we are both writers and artists who work from home and live a quiet, introverted lifestyle with very minimal social activity. We spend most of our time at home, always ready to offer cuddles and playtime to visiting cats. As of August 23, our friend Jamie will be moving in. While not involved in the business, Jamie’s life revolves around cats and she will be on hand for bonus cuddles.

THE ORIGINAL MEOWINGTON HOME
Located near Monkland on the edge of Westmount, The Original Meowington Home is a tranquil and spacious 5 1/2 apartment. Clean and quiet, it's a haven for cats to explore, play, and relax. Comfy beds, hiding spots, and window sills await, while the spacious entryway/dining room/living room is a paradise for energetic "zoomies."
While there's a small balcony, rest assured that the safety of your cat is a priority. If your feline friend enjoys outdoor moments, we will make it happen securely. Please provide a harness if you would like your kitty to get a little fresh air outdoors. They can be taken for a short sunbath on the balcony, but will never be left alone there. Back inside, there are no harmful plants for your furry friend to gnaw on.
If you have small caged mammals, there's ample space, including two separate closed rooms for safety. Concerned about cohabiting with cats? Just notify us so we do not double book. The focus is always on your pet's comfort at The Meowington Home.

OUR EXPERIENCE
Pamela has had pets in her home her entire life, and passed this on to Holly. Neither of us have been without one or more cats (aside from since we started our Meowington venture. We have given up pet ownership in favour of creating this vacation home) - and, added to that, have had budgies, rats, hamsters, gerbils, a small dog, and one fabulous hedgehog.
We have both had cats with kidney disease, and are well-versed in giving oral medication as well as subcutaneous fluids.
We are also both cat whisperers when it comes to claw clipping! If your cat is not a fan and they need their claws clipped, just let us know and we will get it done with minimal complaint. :)

WHAT WE PROVIDE (Boarding)
The Meowington Home provides 24/7 care. We are each almost always at home, except for the occasional need to run errands or get some outdoor exercise.
There is plenty of room for multiple cats from the *same* household. As a rule we do not board multiple households of cats at the same time. That being said, it is at times requested by regular clients so they do not have to book with a new Pawshaker. In these instances, all parties involved will be contacted to ensure consent prior to scheduling anything.
For caged pets, we can take multiple households unless there is a request made not to.
Potential boarding situations include:
-1 cat(s) household
-1 cat(s) household + 1 caged pet household (separated from the cat(s)
-2-3 caged pet households
*In requested multi-household situations, both households of cats will have their own territory and will not come into contact with one another.
The Meowington Home also provides many sleeping options. Cat houses, beds, couches, comfy chairs, secret closet hide-aways, the recent addition of a window hammock at the Original home, and of course in the human bed as well!
We provide a litter box as well as food dishes, but you must bring your own litter and food. We also ask that you provide feeding notes via Pawshake message so we can keep your kitty on your preferred feeding schedule.
We are also very close to a 9-5 as well as emergency vet in case any problems arise.
Last but not least, we provide a minimum of one photo update per day. If you would like more, just let us know. We understand how important it is to feel assured that your pet is doing well, so if you want us to bombard you with photos and stories, we will do exactly that. :)
----
HOME VISITS
On a limited basis, we can make home visits within a catchment area of a 25-minute walk from Meowingtons. We do not have a vehicle, and sometimes cannot offer this service for seasonal reasons. But if we do set this up, we will spend 30 minutes in your home for feeding, cleaning the litter box, and playing with your kitty. Then you will receive a daily report card through the Pawshake website, including photos.

HOUSE SITTING
If you are looking for someone to stay at your home with your animal(s) and perhaps some house plants, Holly is open to taking on house-sitting bookings. As there is additional work and planning involved in this type of booking, the fee is higher than boarding at Meowingtons.

Love, dedication, and flexibility are three things we see as key to animal care, and we know how to follow through on each one. Having provided care for three kidney cats as well as other cats with behavioural issues (anger in one, extreme shyness in the other), we are very good at adapting to exactly what your pet requires when it comes to care.
We can't wait to meet your amazing companion animal(s) !
