Hello everyone! My name is Florence and I am a recent Uottawa Law graduate. I am planning to work full or part-time for the summer season and I would love to take care of animals as a side hustle. I've been on and off the Pawshake platform, so I am quite accustomed to it now. I even did some petsitting in France while I was studying there! Please note that I am fully bilingual. I am located in Gatineau now but I work in downtown Ottawa during the week, so I can be in various locations.
I've been around animals my whole life and I love spending time with them, especially now as a student who doesn't have the time and money to take care of her own pets. I offer my services for walks and pet sitting. For dog walks, they will usually last around 30 minutes, but it always depends on the animal and the owner's preference. I am a very active person so I would love to take your dog to the park or even run with them! As for cats, my roommate has one in my apartment, which makes me very knowledgeable about taking care of them. I have done multiple petsitting where I had to do visits once or twice a day.

Reviews
We hired Florence to take care of our two cats for about three weeks. I will say that our cats were in good shape when we came back home, so that's definitely a positive. She was also great when it came to ensuring the house doors were locked on every exit. We live in an area that's known to have some break-ins so I did appreciate her effort on that front.
There were just two things that we wish she could have done to get a higher review: play with the cats and take more initiative.
Florence's visits were very short (4-7 minutes) so I can't imagine our cats received much attention from her. We came home and the food bowls were empty. In fairness to her, she was scheduled to come by the day we came back and she might have gotten to it if she had come earlier. I don't know how often she was refilling their bowls or if she was just leaving it up the automatic feeder. Either way, Florence could have paid closer attention to how much food was left.
We also asked her to pick up our mail while we were gone. I had to remind her to pick it up after my neighbour noticed our mail was piling up. Nothing was stolen but it would have been nice to not have to remind her.
Despite her visits being short, she did a good job coming back to the house to bring back in the cats when they got out of the house to get some fresh air.
Overall Florence mostly covered the essentials but she could have given the house and the cats more attention.
