I've been around animals my entire life, and happily participated in the care of my family pets (cats, dogs, fish, small mammals) from an early, readily understanding they are part of the family. I have a cat of my own who's been with me since he was a kitten more than 8 years ago. My goal is to provide the care I hope my beloved Zamo would receive if I were away from home.

In high school I assisted with the care of a variety of small animals kept by the Biology department. This included small mammals like mice and rats, as well as reptiles and invertebrates. I understand the need for a well maintained environment, as well as enrichment, and socialization when applicable. I maintain that no two animals are the same, and I always look forward to getting to know a new animal friend and their unique personality. I understand animals are not human and 'misbehaviour' is not a choice they make, but potentially a sign of an unmet need, so I'm infinitely forgiving of animal antics. I have a calm demeanour and always strive to interact with animals on their terms, giving them the chance to approach me at their own pace. Once familiar I'm observant to any behaviour changes, while knowing sometimes our animal friends are just being their silly selves. While I love and would happily care for any animal, I joke I'm an adult-onset Cat Person and I'd be especially enthusiastic to help you with your feline family members.
